When I took this photo and others, I was still sitting on a bench on the school grounds.
What I didn't know was that I was under video surveillance.
After 12 minutes, the security guard arrived and kindly asked me to leave the school grounds.
Instructor Michael briefed us how to handle the paddle.

It is a basic human right to defend your life and the life of your family should they be in imminent mortal danger. For those who choose to do so, it is their responsibility to learn how to safely carry and use a firearm... It is my goal to make sure people do not take this responsibility lightly and teach them to pray that, every time they holster their pistol, they need never have to use it.

Built entirely by convict labour under the supervision of staff Trade Instructors, the house took nearly 3 years to build. The cost? Approximately $ 9,000.00 (in 1873 dollars). Designed in the Italianate Vernacular style by Acting Penitentiary Architect, Henry H. Horsey, it was constructed using a combination of local Kingston limestone quarried on the penitentiary reserve, with Ohio Sandstone accents. In the late 19th century, the residence became known as "Cedarhedge" in reference to the extensive manicured cedar hedges that once lined the driveway.
Returning to old photo sessions to see how I would process them differently a few years later.
When I photographed her Kate had just come back from working as a diving instructor in Thailand, and was at university in London studying Anthropology and Film.
The Italians did well to show as many aircraft types as possible that had served their air force at their centenary air show held in 2023.
However, in the case of the Macchi M.416, despite 180 being built, the only survivor appears to be a static exhibit inside the national museum at Vigna di Valle. Fortunately, that Macchi was a licence built Fokker S-11 Instructor, of which there are airworthy examples.
In full Royal Dutch Air Force livery, wearing the serial E-14, is PH-AFS which is based at Lelystad.

A lone Drill Instructor walks the long hallway at MCRD, San Diego.
This hallway is 1/2 mile long. It spans the length of the parade deck plus the parking lots on either side. This is just half of it.

From the introduction : " 'The Simple Camera' is an instructor's aid for a 12-lesson course in picturetaking . It consists of twelve filmstrips (or rolls of 35mm transparencies to be mounted as slides) and an Instructor's Manual - which is composed of this "General Information" booklet and four other booklets ,each containing instructor's notes for a group ot three lessons . The lessons are designed to teach picturetaking to beginners . It makes little difference how old a student is , or what kind of camera he happens to own . The fundamentals of picturetaking are the same - whether the camera is simple , adjustable , or automatic ; whether the picturetaker is nine or ninety ."
