Talisman Farm and Head Trainer and Instructor Esther Hillner held an Open House to showcase their new location at Twin Palms Stables on February 7, 2010.
There was vaulting practice on barrels and on a vaulting horse, as well as a vaulting demonstration.
Thank you to Esther, Talisman Farm, Rick and Virginia, Konstantin and Susi, the Girl Guides, Horses for Hero’s, Babe, and Kidd. It was a wonderful event and it was great to see everyone enjoying not only the vaulting, but working with the horses.
Each time she teaches this course, Dr. Madden treats students to different "takes" on Vermont history. This semester, students will be interviewing local residents to compile oral histories.
Canal tours are given on Petersburg boats which run on electric power.
As part of the Augusta Photography Festival, we went on a photography workshop-cum-cruise along the historic Augusta canal sponsored by the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area. Instructors were Vennie Deas-Moore, Frank Lazenby and Dwain Shaw. I enjoyed seeing and photographing the entire canal in the surprisingly breezy weather on an otherwise humid night.
