Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.”

Happy Saturday
It is 45 years ago today when I attempted to view Melbourne's total solar eclipse from the backyard. Sadly Melbourne’s fickle spring weather spoilt the party so I ended up running in and out of the house to also watch the event on TV.
The 8” f7 Newtonian telescope tube was purchased from Astro Optical Supplies in Sydney. My parents were very kind to drive me up and back for the purchase. The tube just fitted across the back seat of the car where I proudly nursed it all the way home. I built the mount with instructions from a book bought at the same time. For me it was a great achievement as I’ve never been a real handyman. The picture was taken by my sister with my Olympus OM-1 on Kodak Tri-x film which I used to develop and print myself in our bathroom.
The white circle marks on the fence next to the BBQ were created by Rod Marsh’s misses as wicket keeper 😉
A holographic Nix tries to talk a confused Michael Bagby (Hatari) through the instructions to repair the security unit.

SPNC - Year 3 - Instruction # 18
"Find a corner or a spot somewhere that interests you and photograph the scene for a much longer period of time than you would ordinarily." - Stu Egan
When I tire of taking photos I look at the work of others and what they are up to in their photography. It works every time ... I am inspired to pick up my camera and shoot.
A case in point is this sampling (from my TV screen) of a couple of photographers; Olga Karlovic and Alexey Titarenko (all rights reserved to them of course). I confess I have too many photography books for our small lakeside A-frame cottage.
- Keefer Lake, Ontario, Canada
I have been asked / told to show some pics of me in stockings so here they are. Apologies if there are too many

This beauty is a Falcon Miniature camera originally made by the Utility Manufacturing Company beginning around 1939...they are simple cameras made of Bakelite and where badged under several different names during their run. I have several of these in my collection, two Falcon's, a Miniature Remington camera, and a Photo Master.
The Utility Manufacturing Company was eventually taken over by the Spartus Company and these simple 127 cameras continued to be produced for many years. These cameras appear to be modeled after the Argus A 35mm cameras but the Argus A's were much better cameras...I have several of these in my collection too.
The Falcon Miniature is a fun camera to shoot and if you like the Lomography style of photography these will definitely appeal to you. They shoot 127 film, which is still available online from several film retailers. I find these at Estates sales from time to time and I always pick them up if they are in decent condition. This one, as you can see came with the original box and the original instruction manual.
"Lines, straight or curved : People follow them, contradict them or imprison themselves in them." - Thierry Clech
This is an instruction card that was attached to a camera bag with a string that went through the two holes. The purple was added with light.
Get yourself in the midst of an encounter: shoot a picture with people, rather than of people. - Tiffany Jones
