I tend to go in really close with the macro lens and loose the beauty of the setting. This time I tried shots from further out before getting in close.Another Orange Tip [Anthocharis cardamines] captured this morning. Worth a look at full size, for the dew drops.

I live following my instinct.
My instinct tells me to kill.
And my Killing is never senseless. My Killing is the way to survive. My Killing is a grain on the balance that keeps the equilibrium in my world.
I never have remorse. Never had and never will.
I spent my time doing what I had to do to survive.
Nothing less, nothing more.
I had two sons, just one survived, by killing his brother.
I protected the stronger, I let go the wicker.
I did not kill one of my sons I saved one of them.
This was the way of my parents, and this will be the way of my son.
And this is the only way in the world where I live.
There are moments that stick in your mind that become memories and this is one of them.
The zoo was going to announce the birth of the cubs so the public can start seeing them out in the enclosure, so they asked could I come by after hours and get the cubs and Misty used to seeing people out the front.
Of course I jumped at this opportunity.
The first day a few of the keepers were with me out the fornt of the enclosure and Misty strolled out with cubs in tow. They stayed up the back but were surprisingly comfortable with strangers staring at them and taking photos. The sound of my camera didn't seem to bother them too much either.
The second afternoon, I was the only one out front. Now although Misty may recongise me, I am still very much a stranger and not part of the pride.
This afternoon she came out and the cubs were eager to follow but Misty just stood at the doorway. The moment one of the cubs came into view she picked it up and put it back inside the den so I couldn't see it.
I thought this behaviour interesting because the previous afternoon she was ok with showing off her cubs whilst people she knew were out the front near me.
The cubs wanted out no matter how hard Misty tried to hide them from me and in particular it was this one cub, (Zoraya a female who is obviuosly the most outgoing and mumma's favourite) she kept picking up and returning inside.
After she kept doing this I decided to stop taking photos until I felt Misty was comfortable with me being there and doing so.
It was another 4 days until I took my next lot of photo's and by then Misty and the cubs were comfortable with me clicking away.
Seeing her do this is something I will never forget. I felt so privileged to witness this behaviour. There are no words for me to describe this moment all I know is my heart swelled and I had tears in my eyes.
