I don't know a lot about Azalea. I was surprised to find this one blooming in September.

Still testing the Fuji Instax Mini 9, a camera that showed up in a bin of discarded cameras at ReclaimIt! (previous post).

Impossible Project SX70 Instant Film

Taken with my Fujifilm Instax 210 instant camera

Well the weather co-operated and I had a couple of days off work. Dusted down a few cameras and headed off to the south coast.

First shots from one of my Christmas gifts, the KODAK Mini Shot 3 Square Retro Instant Camera. It's a 10MP digital point and shoot camera with a 4 color printer that yields 3-inch square laminated images. In these first images I am testing it's ability to do closeups of Mary's Dicken's Village and Battle of the Bulge diorama.

Perhaps I should've crossed the street to get more details of the October decor of this property. Oh well! I still like the bigger picture view. It's fun to look closely and pick out the little details, sometimes.

“I frequently tramped eight or ten miles through the deepest snow to keep an appointment with a beech-tree, or a yellow birch, or an old acquaintance among the pines.”

Henry David Thoreau

The lake was lovely yesterday. This family was playing with their children and those girls and a couple others with toboggans were having a ball with the available snow. I snapped this shot in 30+ degree weather. Since I did not have a cold clip I just placed it under my sweater and waited for it to develop while I took photos with my other cameras. It worked.

It is snowing in downtown Seattle right now. Everything is covered in white and I'm so happy but I won't get a snow day today. I have to be at Children's Hospital by 10am. Have a great day everyone!

I know Instax isn't Polaroid, but the Roidweek rules do say "any instant film is fine".

Heading back to our car to leave downtown Eureka Springs, we came across this perfect set-up. The light, leaves, light posts, people, and everything lined up perfectly. I opened up my Lomo'instant as fast as I could, somehow remembered to focus it, and lucked my way into a perfect reactionary photo. This was the last sheet of film in the pack, too. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

The Fuji Instax Mini 9 showed up in a bin of discarded cameras at ReclaimIt! I added batteries, film and took it for a test run. It's clean and all systems seem operational.

I took this shot of it (too bad the white camera is overexposed) with my Lomo'Instant Automat.

I'll follow up with images from the Mini 9. The camera should be on the shelves at ReclaimIt! soon.

Short silence.

This was a weekend or two back, before the foliage really started to change up. Glad to at least get some yellow pops in the background. I'm finally getting to where I can get the composition to turn out about like I want with the Lomo'instant Square Glass. It's viewfinder gives you more of a suggestion of what the composition might be, haha. When it all works, though, it produces some quality Instax shots!
