I have one camera from the UK, with a round transport knob, a round internal lens opening, a small pointer on a small base pointing to the weather symbols, a rectangular slot for the lock, and double instructions on the film to use. (The illustration in Brian Coe's book shows a camera with lever wind) .

I have 7 cameras made in Germany and they show various changes in the course of production (sequence established on the 'Camerosity' code inside the film compartment).

Round tranport knob changed to knob with lever, internal lens opening changed from round to polygonal to square, a bigger pointer on a broader base, the slot for the lock with additional rectangular outpouching, no instructions for the film to be used.

Furthermore : the film view window on the back has rectangular angles and vertical ribbing on the UK version and has rounded angles with a smooth surface in the German cameras. The vertical base of the shutter release bar is smaller in the English version, and when the sky is clouded, the sun is larger in Germany than in the UK.

I have no cameras made in Spain to compare with.

The Instamatic 50 was the first of the Kodak Instamatic camera line , produced from 1963-1966 . The above models- USA on the left , UK on the right- are not the very first of the production but apparently the most common . They are grossly the same but show some differences . Apart from the place of manufacturing as mentioned on the front and on the inside of the backdoor, the backdoor itself shows the presence of a pressure plate in the UK-model , and the absence of vertical ribbing on the opening side of the door in the US-model .

-Differences in relief and text in left-sided and central cartridge compartment .

- All (11) German cameras had a camerosity code (earliest 'yosa' = 06 72 ) . My (only) English camera had none .

-Silver letters on the front of the German specimens.

-Different shapes of the cartridge pressure pins and the rivets on the inside of the back door.

-Subtle lines forming a window in the film window of the English version.

-Contact pin in magicube socket white metal in the German , and black metal in the English version .
