Geneva, a not well known place for me, is full of inspiration. Basically every new town is inspiration and exciting :-)
The primary inspiration for The Breakers was Italian Renaissance style, which differs quite a bit from the other Vanderbilt property I've been to, Biltmore, where the design was influenced by elegant French chateaus.

The days photo challenge theme is “inspiration”.
I thought about this topic and what inspires my photography. I have a selection of photo books by some of the photographers that I admire. I love to browse those and read the stories behind the images. I’m also inspired by my cameras. Now I’m the first to say that having a great camera doesn’t automatically make for a great photographer but having gear that I enjoy, inspires me to get out and shoot pictures. The more you practice, the more you learn.

Truly, this is one of the most beautiful stores I have ever been in. Stacks of wonderful soaps & linen sprays, crystal decantors, cake plates - all displayed like an old apothecary.

A fabulous new park has opened up in Brooklyn!
Though I spent the summer away, I was delighted to visit the spot through the wonderful work of Barry Yanowitz, Vitaliy P. , krugerlive, Cran Burry and Rafakoy. Check them out, they're all incredible shots and it's fascinating seeing different artists' interpretations of the same place.
Of course, once I got back to Brooklyn I thought it was about time a girl got down there...
(and preferably a girl with some film) and so, here's my humble contribution.

Angela has been a contact of mine for quite a while. She is such a talent - her range of expertise is unbelievable!! She photographs newborns and children so beautifully and her still life and naturey shots are fabulous! This is my third year back to Enchantments during its larch season. There is something special about this place that draws me to return again and again. I like the pristine alpine lakes here with granite rock and mountains in the surroundings. The golden larches during autumn season just makes this already photogenic place extra special.
To make the best of my time here, I did lots of research on the potential places to scout and shoot. This is my first location off the beaten path and I am really glad how this image turns out. The fleeting moment when the sun rises just above the horizon is always a memorable moment to capture.
This is but one section of a larger panorama I will finish when I have time. One of the more intense sunrises I have seen.

This was a great project. As most of you know, it is difficult not to be inspired by Charlie. I was so tickled to get to work with him. I can't wait to see what else we come up with.
I'm not able to find enough time to follow my eyes! Everywhere I go I see something, but especially when is calm and relaxing like Maldives. The white sand itself gave me a lot of inspirational thoughts..
