Looking out into the world, wondering what was to come. Our lives so small, so insignificant, so boring, how could one compare a single person to the world around us. Yosi closed his laptop, stared off into the distance and began to weep. He cried for his dying mother and for his abusive father. He cried for his lost lover, and he cried for all the unhappy souls all around him. Staring off into the distance Yosi wiped his cheeks with a tissue, then slowly lowered his bright blue eyes and stared at the ground. He saw a black ant strolling along the floor, moving slowly yet quickly at the same time. What a paradox indeed, speed is relative I suppose? Yosi stared and imagined what it would be like to be so small, what is it like to be so little in a world so big. And then it hit him, he was an ant. He was so small in a world so big. He was a wandering passenger in the sea of life and just like the ant struggling to make its way through the endless maze of wood he too was lost. For how could Yosi live, if he was one in seven billion. What was there for him to achieve, to do, what would bring him satisfaction. He did not know, so he stared at the ground, then slowly lifted his gaze looked out his window and watched cars pass by. They too are so small he thought to himself. They too have nothing to live for. He closed his eyes took a deep breathe in, and that is all that I will ever remember.
