The arrival of a UN regional force in South Sudan will enable the UN Mission in the country, UNMISS to free up additional peacekeepers to mount more “patrols along insecure roads,” the head of the Mission, David Shearer has said.
Mr Shearer, who is also the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in South Sudan was speaking in Juba following the arrival, over the weekend, of the first 120 soldiers of the Rwandan battalion of the Regional Protection Force (RPF).
The RPF was mandated by the UN Security Council with a maximum troop strength of 4000 and will bolster the Mission’s capacity to deter violence and protect civilians in the South Sudanese capital, Juba.
The 15-member Council authorized the force in the wake of the violence in Juba in July 2016.
A Nepalese High Readiness company and over 100 Bangladeshi engineers have already arrived in the Mission area as part of the force.
Mr Shearer said the arrival of these contingents “marks the beginning of the phased deployment of the RPF” in Juba.
Some 600 additional Rwandan peacekeepers will arrive in next few weeks while the “arrival of Ethiopian troops is imminent,” Mr Shearer added.
RPF troops will be based in Juba and will operate if necessary, in surrounding areas.

Malawi, Muona, Nsanje District, 24 March 2020
In March 2019, rural farmers in Muona have seen their crops washed away by Cyclone Idai. WFP responded at that time with immediate support.
However, as food stocks depleted and as the next harvest is only expected in March 2020, WFP in Malawi has distributed monthly cash transfers to the most vulnerable so they can buy food and boost the local economy.

As prevention measures for COVID-19, the beneficiaries are called by small group to facilitate distancing, received sensitization messages on the virus through the megaphones, are asked to wash hands with soap before and after getting their entitlements. In addition, staff and volunteers in charge of the distributions are using protecting masks and gloves.

Economic growth has slowed down considerably, unemployment is on the rise, and the ongoing insecurity hampers investment. All these provoke many of the talented and educated Afghans to migrate.

The ongoing COVID-19 health crisis continues to expose vulnerabilities in food systems, highlighting the insecurity of rural livelihoods, the tragedy of food loss and waste, and the stark inequities in access to healthy food. The upcoming, first-ever UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS), presents a unique opportunity to bring together stakeholders from across the food value chain to address these challenges and unlock barriers to sustainable food systems transformation.
Absurd quantities of food are lost and wasted every year in a world where 700 million people go hungry each day and where planetary boundaries are being exceeded by unsustainable food production. Drastic reduction of food loss and waste is therefore imperative and will be an essential part of the UNFSS agenda.
This policy seminar will serve as a platform to discuss actionably, “game-changing” solutions to reduce food loss and waste on a global scale (SDG 12.3) and provide inputs to the UNFSS agenda. Built around the Champions 12.3 Initiative and the Technical Platform for the Measurement and Reduction of Food Loss and Waste, the seminar will be held, fittingly, on March 12 (12.3).

SO, uhmmm, yeah, I have many insecurites (not featured in this photo...probably because i'm insecure about them..lol).
-Physically, I'm insecure about my ears, thumbs, feet, weight, nose, the symilarity of my eyes, and another thing that I don't really want to (bring attention to/)mention on here because I don't want people who I know to look out for them.
-When I was coming to the conclusion that I was actually insecure about all of these things, I realized how shallow I can be. Instead of continuously thinking about how my ears that stick out (so I never wear my hair up), I thought at least I can hear and see and am able to experience so many things that have nothing to do with the way I look. And I'm thanking God all the time for blessing me.
-So, yeah, sorry for going on there^....I usually don't do that, but....yeah, so if you read all that, then props...and you're awesome. :)
-and thanks to Lookalivesunshine (tagged over there>>) for bringing this to my attention. :)
Hope everyone is doing swell!
This is my favourite out of the set, I think the fact that the model (my friend) not noticing how beautiful her body was until I took the picture was really nice. She felt the her stretch marks ruined her body.
(lots of Photoshop mess ups on this one)

Day Twenty Seven 1-25-11
"Lost and insecure... you found me, you found me. Lying on the floor... surrounded, surrounded. Why'd you have to wait?... Where were you? Where were you? Just a little late... you found me, you found me," The Fray. Well then let's just put it simply, today was horrid. So much pent up stress, even though I ought not to be stressed. Damned you make up Ap Chem test! How sad to think that looking back on this, I would have thought myself to be stupid for stressing out about something so little. Anyways, today was painful they tightened my braces... Again. Hopefully they'll be off by the time I finish this project. I am both skeptical and excited about tomorrow, for two totally different reasons! Anyways, todays shot was just a simple silhouette, and one of my favorite necklaces that broke.
I photographed multiple models and their physical insecurities. I then did basic Lightroom edits and took the photos to Photoshop, where I compiled them together into one photo, cropping and adjusting where needed.
I wanted to do a piece that expressed my insecurities as a teenage girl. I'd never done a portrait of myself on manual focus, so I found it a little difficult to get in focus. However, that actually made my ideas come across stronger. Because worries about your physical image are not something that you should worry about, or focus on.
