I have been told this is a bee mimicking hoverfly and I am in no position to argue that's the beauty of flickr always plenty of input especially when I have got it wrong

Saw this on car's bonnet

La chrysomèle est dĂ©daignĂ©e des prĂ©dateurs, et notamment des oiseaux insectivores, sans doute en raison de l'Ă¢cretĂ© de son goĂ»t, et d'une trop forte saveur issue des plantes aromatiques ingĂ©rĂ©es.

 

En l'absence d'une régulation naturelle suffisante, l'insecte peut évidemment proliférer au-delà du raisonnable.

A type of insect, I am seeing for the first time.

Red ants on a cornflower bud. Not seen this many ants on one bud before.

You can clearly see the reason why though - there are pools of honeydew on the bud. Not sure if this is natural or whether the ants actually damage the bud to make it leak. Focus stacked using zerene stacker

little insect feeding on the honey inside the flower .....

This little critter was walking all over some fungi on the forest floor, a good subject to train the macro lens on. f4, 1/1250 sec ISO400

I've no idea what this is. It was sunning itself on the bonnet of the car, hence the reflection.
