Quite frequently see these little grass flies when I'm doing dewdrop refraction shots

Not been able to get close to this dragonfly in the last few days until today (my birthday) when it happily climbed on my finger and smiled for the camera :)

The Buckwheat is native to Southern California but not to the San Francisco Bay Area (Northern California). This may have been planted here long ago when Tidewater (EBRPD) was a fruit orchard to attract pollinators to the trees.

I was hanging out the washing when I spotted this chap on a dead fritillary leaf.

Dashed doors grabbed theCanon G9 and only managed this shot before it flew off.

I've seen this ladybug in my hometown park. I was a little surprised, 'cos I've never seen any ladybug in colours like this. My friend said that propably it is Calvia decemguttata :)
