This is the first time I have seen these insects. I was inspecting sunflowers and spotted them on a stem. These are cool!

Well I went looking for the tiny bees I found in the park the other day, couldn't see them anywhere, but I did find this pretty fly that alighted on a leaf for a few seconds for me to catch a shot. It is so shiny my outline is reflected in the blue of its back.....also, the blue sky, the green behind me, not very clear I know but still that is what it is!...hope someone can ID it. Little yellow face and great red eyes......PS. Wishing everybody a really Happy Christmas and New Year Season from our house to yours!!!

This class introduced us to macro photography. I do not have any special equipment but I did manage to capture this with my 18-135 lens. This image was highly cropped to get this magnification. It looks good on the web, but probably would not be as successful as a print.

It is less than 1cm in size.

This Hover fly was performing for me...i could not get a sharper shot as she is so small and i was in a difficult position but i could not wait to post this ;)))

One friend asked me, have I encountered a fairy or two?

Well, I do encountered the Elf, the helper of the fairy.

The Elf hang under a leaf.

He waved his hands and said " I am the Elf. The fairy is on her vacation." LOL

I am not really sure what this critter is but I found it outside on the wall today. It was quite small not as large as it looks here.

This potter wasp took some time tearing bits of petal from the top of an unopened potentilla flower in it's search for caterpillars

I had no choice but to use the flash as he was hiding under the shade. The wings had somewhat reflected the flash, otherwise the color of this creature could have been more matt looking.

This is a shy insect and flew whenever i come close. Even my Tamron is not far enough to not spook it.

ID please?
