Von unten schaut ein Schwefelkäfer zu.

 

Roter Weichkäfer - Rhagonycha fulva

 

Rote Weichkäfer werden 7 bis 10 Millimeter lang. Sie sind fast am ganzen Körper rotgelb gefärbt, nur die hinteren Enden der Deckflügel sind dunkel. Sie leben auf Feldern, Wiesen und in Gärten, insbesondere auf Doldenblütlern. (wikipedia)

l had a look in my book to see if l could id this bee but it's not in it, don't remember seeing such a black bee, does anyone know what it's iid for my daily picture

A butterfly with tattered wings

Swallowtails visit my butterfly bush daily but his is the first really perfect specimen I have seen. Most have defects, IE: broken tails, damaged wings, etc!

Male. Common, but certainly a dazzler. Lacassine NWR, Cameron Parrish, Louisiana.
