Hover fly approaching a Daisy.

In a quiet embrace of green leaves,

a midnight bee with wings of twilight blue

whispers to a shy lavender bloom,

their dance a secret sonnet of nature's tender touch.

Und noch ein wie ich finde sehr schönes Foto von dem wunderbaren Schmetterling ❤💕

Juvenile mantis (I think Chaeteessa sp.) at night in a Costa Rican forest. Well-camouflaged creatures are among my favorite macrophoto subjects; what seems drab from a distance almost always has beautiful complexity up close. For instance, look at the thin yellow edging at the base of the spines on the raptorial forelegs.

HIer konnte ich mit meinem Sigma 100-400 diese schöne große Heidelibelle einfangen.

Scarce Chaser Dragonflies (Libellula fulva) @ River Nene, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK

Under heavy shade on a tree, Lacewing larva is on the move looking for Aphids. Some gather debris on their backs and accrue more as they go. They seem to vary as to what they choose to encrust themselves with. Sometimes it is carcasses of the Aphids they have eaten. This one looks to also have gather lichen of some sort.

Heute habe ich mich mal auf Schmetterlinge konzentriert und es wurde belohnt 😊

Ganz schön flink gewesen der kleine Kerl 😃

Just before take-off I could get this pic.

Not sure what happened to this poor mantis, it didn't stop it from doing it's thing though. Seems like a female probably?

I'm disappointed that I clipped her wing, but she was moving so fast that I barely had time to adjust the frame. In my peripheral vision I could see the flower and the position of it, and those lines, and that's why I framed the scene the way that I did.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (3x) + a diffused MT-26EX-RT with a Kaiser adjustable flash shoe on the "A" head (the key), E-TTL metering, +1/3 FEC, second curtain sync). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

Insect on a flower near Groenekan on 13-11-2022

A very small insect in the Fly family (Diptera). I was impressed with its plumose antennae, indicating that this is a male midge.

(For you fly-fishing fans, this insect was so small it would have to be tied on a size 22-24 hook!)

Happy Fly Day Friday!
