Eastern Moors - Derbyshire - not a particularly good shot - just a record as it was the first one I've seen close to
Since I initially sighted her eight days ago, beginning her project under a yucca leaf in the garden...the paper wasp queen has been busy adding cells to her nest and a few days ago laid her first eggs.

More downtime at Laikipia Wilderness River camp. There was a huge web between my room and the mess area and I just had to get some shots of its occupants.

Found a little Scissor Bee (Chelostoma emarginatum, male) semi active in a Buttercup flower. Had to take the magnification to 4x for this one to get a portrait of him.
Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (4x) + a diffused MT-26EX-RT with a Kaiser adjustable flash shoe on the "A" head (the key), E-TTL metering, -1/3 FEC, second curtain sync). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Sharpen AI, Denoise AI, and Clarity in that order.

This Ladybug was all snug like a bug in a rug deep inside a Dahlia flower. I did check to make sure she was alive and she was. Reminded me that we all have to take solace and close the doors to the outside world even if for a little while.
Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata , the 28-Spotted Potato Ladybird Beetlek. Easier to call it a Hadda Beetle!
Today, thousands of dahlia (Dahlia) cultivars exist in a wide range of colors and flower forms, bringing vibrant highlights especially in late summer and autumn. The plant originates from Mexico and belongs to the sunflower family (Asteraceae). It was introduced to Europe in the 18th century and soon became a popular ornamental plant in gardens and parks.
