Ta Prohm (pronunciation: prasat taprohm) is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara (in Khmer: រាជវិហារ). Located approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII:125]:388 as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university.
Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm is in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. The conservation and restoration of Ta Prohm is a partnership project of the Archaeological Survey of India and the APSARA (Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap).
Toledo is a city in central Spain, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1986.

Rund um die Pagoden-Anlage
Die Kuthodaw-Pagode (Pagode der Königlichen Verdienste) ist eine 1868 fertiggestellte Anlage in der myanmarischen Stadt Mandalay. Sie besteht aus 729 Stupas in Form pavillonartiger Tempel, in denen je eine weiße Marmorplatte mit birmanischer Schrift steht.
Auf den Marmorplatten ist der Pali-Kanon niedergelegt, das Leben und die Lehren Buddhas. Die ursprünglich vergoldeten Lettern sind heute nur noch schwarz eingefärbt. Die Pagode wird wegen dieser umfangreichen Darstellung auch als „Das größte Buch der Welt“ bezeichnet. Vor der Erschaffung dieser Anlage waren die Texte vorwiegend auf Palmblättern oder Holz niedergeschrieben. Die Inschriften wurden von der UNESCO in die Liste des Weltdokumentenerbes aufgenommen.
In der Mitte der Anlage befindet sich außerdem die vergoldete Maha Lawka Marazein-Pagode, die bereits 1857 nach den Plänen der Shwezigon-Pagode erbaut wurde.

The Kuthodaw Pagoda (Pagoda of Royal Merit) is a complex completed in 1868 in the Myanmar city of Mandalay. It consists of 729 stupas in the form of pavilion-like temples, each containing a white marble slab with Burmese script.
The Pali Canon, the life and teachings of Buddha, is inscribed on the marble slabs. The original gilded letters are now only colored black. The pagoda is also called "The largest book in the world" because of this extensive representation. Before the creation of this complex, the texts were mainly written down on palm leaves or wood. The inscriptions have been included by UNESCO in the list of World Documentary Heritage.
In the center of the complex there is also the gilded Maha Lawka Marazein Pagoda, which was built as early as 1857 according to the plans of the Shwezigon Pagoda.

Lycia was a geopolitical region in Anatolia in what are now the provinces of Antalya and Muğla on the southern coast of Turkey, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, and Burdur Province inland. Known to history since the records of ancient Egypt and the Hittite Empire in the Late Bronze Age, it was populated by speakers of the Luwian language group. Written records began to be inscribed in stone in the Lycian language (a later form of Luwian) after Lycia's involuntary incorporation into the Achaemenid Empire in the Iron Age. At that time (546 BC) the Luwian speakers were decimated, and Lycia received an influx of Persian speakers.
Although the 2nd-century BC dialogue Erōtes found the cities of Lycia "interesting more for their history than for their monuments, since they have retained none of their former splendor," many relics of the Lycians remain visible today. These relics include the distinctive rock-cut tombs in the sides of cliffs.

Ohrid is a small resort city on the hilly shores of Lake Ohrid in the southwest of North Macedonia. The Lake Ohrid region, a mixed World Heritage property was first inscribed for its nature conservation values in 1979 and for its cultural heritage values in 1980.

... every two months, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina (Sicily) sends me on a mission for three days (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Saint Anne ... In my spare time, free from commitments of work, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs I present here were all taken in February of this year 2022; I took photos according to the dictates of street photography, I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand and very willing to let themselves be photographed (maybe ... that the islanders are open-minded, eager and used to communicate with strangers ..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work, some fishermen were intent on repairing their nets, a lady showed me one of her beautiful work, a blanket she made with knitting needles , hanging on her balcony (it reminded me of the shawls my grandmother made, also made with hand knitting needles); all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except three, taken in the dark in the port of Milazzo, the port of departure and arrival with hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands.
….ogni due mesi, la mia Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Messina, mi manda in missione per tre giorni (da Taormina) all’Ospedale Civile di Lipari, situato in via Sant’Anna …Nei ritagli di tempo, libero dagli impegni di lavoro, mi dedico alla mia passione fotografica; le fotografie che qui presento sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di febbraio di quest’anno 2022; ho realizzato foto secondo i dettami della fotografia di strada (street photography), ho realizzato alcuni ritratti, avendo incontrato sempre persone alla mano e molto disponibili nel lasciarsi fotografare (sarà forse…che la gente isolana è di mentalità aperta, desiderosa ed abituata a comunicare con gli estranei..?!), alcuni ritratti sono stati eseguiti a persone intente nei loro lavori, alcuni pescatori erano intenti a riparare le loro reti, una signora mi ha mostrato un suo bellissimo lavoro, una coperta da lei realizzata coi ferri a maglia, appesa nel suo balcone (mi ricordava gli scialli che realizzava mia nonna, anch’essi realizzati coi ferri a mano); tutte le foto sono state realizzate nella città di Lipari, tranne tre, realizzate col buio nel porto di Milazzo, scalo di partenza e di arrivo con gli aliscafi (ma c’è anche la nave) per le isole Eolie.
On 22 June 2014, the castle of Grinzane Cavour was inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage list.
Mentions of the castle's early history are extremely scarce, and its origins have been variously assigned to the 13th century or to around 1350. The castle includes a large tower, which is thought to be the most ancient part of the construction; the rest of the body has similar features, and therefore it is likely that it was built in the same age.
In the 15th century, the castle and the surrounding were owned by the marquis of Busca, whose heraldic symbols have been found in some rooms, under later plasterings. It was later under several lords, the most famous of which was, in the mid-19th century, Camillo Benso, Conte di Cavour, who resided here starting from 1830. Cavour restored the construction and improved the vine cultivations in the area. In 1832 he became mayor of Grinzane, a position he held until 1849. Cavour was also known as the architect of the Unification of Italy.
The castle currently houses an ethnological museum with original furniture items from the 19th century, and rooms dedicated to Cavour's stay and to Italian wine production. The castle also contains the Cavour Regional Enoteca, created in 1967 to showcase the wines of the famous Langhe region of Piedmont - in particular the Barbaresco and Barolo wines, as well as the Michelin Star restaurant, Marc Lanteri Al Castello.
The castle has a rectangular plan and a massive appearance, with a large keep, occupying a whole wing, and a U-shaped structure with a series of turrets: two square and two rounded, the latter, added in the 16th century, being pensile.
There are a series of rooms, one of which, called Sala delle Maschere ("Masques Hall"), has a ceiling decorated with 157 panels featuring coat of arms, animals and allegory images celebrating the marriage of Pietrino Falletti, who owned the castle in 1517
In 2010 a new building was inaugurated. It houses educational rooms and a hall used for meetings.
In addition the castle contains an enoteca (wine cellar), a cafe and a restaurant.
Inscribed on the walls of the Pinkas Synagogue in Prague are the names of the ca.78,000 Czech Jews murdered by the Nazis.

All the photos I present were taken on the beaches of the Italian town “Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Jonio” in Calabria (southern Italy); I made photos related to "beach photography" (a genre similar to "street photography");
... I photographed young and old people ... with a great desire for the sea and a great desire to dive into the sea to swim; I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
I used a particular photographic technique for some photographs at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate sulle spiagge del paese di “Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Jonio” in Calabria (Catanzaro); ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “beach photography” (un genere affine alla “street photography”);
ho fotografato persone giovani e meno giovani…con tanta voglia di mare e tanta voglia di immergersi in acqua per fare qualche nuotata; ho realizzato alcuni foto-ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, le ringrazio veramente tanto per la loro simpatia e la loro disponibilità; ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando sulle spiagge... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.---------------------------------------------------------

Friendship, Fun, Loneliness, Nostalgia and ... a great desire to live with the great desire to return to the normal life of always before the pandemic (to always keep in mind that, even if the worse than the Covid-19 pandemic, it now seems to be behind us, the crisis is certainly not to be considered over just because mortality has reduced): I present here, on Flickr, a collection of exhibitions made in this hot summer, with traceable photographs, almost entirely, in the "beach photography" genre. The photographs were all taken in July-August 2022, on the beaches of the east coast of Sicily, and of the Ionian coast of Calabria.

Sole, Spiagge, Mare, Estate, ma anche ...Amicizia, Divertimento, Solitudine, Nostalgia e… tanta voglia di vivere col grande desiderio di ritornare alla vita normale di sempre ante-pandemia (da tenere sempre a mente che, anche se il peggio della pandemia da Covid-19, sembra ormai alle spalle, la crisi non è certo da considerarsi terminata solo perché la mortalità si è ridotta): presento qui, su Flickr, una raccolta di esposizioni realizzate in questa calda estate, con fotografie riconducibili, per la quasi totalità, al genere “beach photography”. Le fotografie sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di Luglio-Agosto 2022, sulle spiagge della costa orientale della Sicilia, e della costa ionica della Calabria.

….ogni due mesi, la mia Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Messina, mi manda in missione per tre giorni (da Taormina) all’Ospedale Civile di Lipari, situato in via Sant’Anna …Nei ritagli di tempo, libero dagli impegni di lavoro, mi dedico alla mia passione fotografica; le fotografie che qui presento sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di febbraio di quest’anno 2022; ho realizzato foto secondo i dettami della fotografia di strada (street photography), ho realizzato alcuni ritratti, avendo incontrato sempre persone alla mano e molto disponibili nel lasciarsi fotografare (sarà forse…che la gente isolana è di mentalità aperta, desiderosa ed abituata a comunicare con gli estranei..?!), alcuni ritratti sono stati eseguiti a persone intente nei loro lavori, alcuni pescatori erano intenti a riparare le loro reti, una signora mi ha mostrato un suo bellissimo lavoro, una coperta da lei realizzata coi ferri a maglia, appesa nel suo balcone (mi ricordava gli scialli che realizzava mia nonna, anch’essi realizzati coi ferri a mano); tutte le foto sono state realizzate nella città di Lipari, tranne tre, realizzate col buio nel porto di Milazzo, scalo di partenza e di arrivo con gli aliscafi (ma c’è anche la nave) per le isole Eolie.
In 1987 that Anne d'Ornano, then mayor of Deauville, had the idea of inscribing the names of actors and directors on the "rails" that line the promenade. Since 2010, this "registration" has become a real event: the "star" whose name is displayed on these "barriers" of the cabin comes to inaugurate it in person. The goal ? Pay homage to them. Each year in August, the names are inspected by the services of the City. Some must be resurfaced, others must be moved to the ends to make room for the newcomers.

I used a photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension: in fact, most of the photos are confused-blurry-blurred-imprecise-indecisive ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encompasses with a single word this photographic genre is "blur", these photos were made in the shooting phase, deliberately lengthening the exposure, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production phase.
Sono queste alcune storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...

Sun, Beaches, Sea, Summer, but also ... Friendship, Fun, Loneliness, Nostalgia and ... a great desire to live with the great desire to return to the normal life of always before the pandemic (to always keep in mind that, even if the worse than the Covid-19 pandemic, it now seems to be behind us, the crisis is certainly not to be considered over just because mortality has reduced): I present here, on Flickr, a collection of exhibitions made in this hot summer, with traceable photographs, almost entirely, in the "beach photography" genre. The photographs were all taken in July-August 2022, on the beaches of the east coast of Sicily, and of the Ionian coast of Calabria.

My rather old prism compass.
The inner degree inscribed compass ring rotates on sapphire pivots inside a liquid filled cavity that damps its motion. Sight across the compass towards the prism (part visible at bottom centre) to read off an accurate bearing.
Use as a conventional compass by rotating the outer ring to the desired direction and line up the red and metal arrows.
The modern compass equivalent appears to be the Silva 55. For less fun or dependability, use your smart watch!

I photographed people who, for the most part, I had never met before, performing their portraits, I thank them for their sympathy and availability;
The volcano Etna, in recent days has shown an intense eruptive activity, even with intense phenomena called "lava fountains", continuous jet emissions persisted intensely for many minutes, of very high "fountains" of incandescent magma, very spectacular and uncommon, in particular, which took place on 23-02 at night, it reached exceptional dimensions and heights; I photographed that spectacular eruptions using a telephoto lens, from Taormina; I photographed Jakub Rizman, an excellent harp player, who spread sweet notes throughout the main square of Taormina, creating a fairytale atmosphere (on YouTube I found some musical performances of him);

ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo incontrato prima, eseguendo dei loro ritratti, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
il vulcano Etna, nei giorni scorsi ha mostrato una intensa attività eruttiva, anche con intensi fenomeni chiamati "fontane di lava", emissioni a getto continuo perdurate intensamente per molti minuti, di altissime "fontane" di magma incandescente, molto spettacolari e non comuni, una in particolare, avvenuta il 23-02 di notte, ha raggiunto dimensioni e altezze eccezionali; ho fotografato da Taormina quelle spettacolari eruzioni, usando un teleobiettivo; ho fotografato Jakub Rizman, un eccellente suonatore d'arpa, che ha diffuso dolcissime note per tutta la piazza principale di Taormina, creando un'atmosfera da favola (su YouTube ho trovato alcune sue esibizioni musicali);
sono queste solo alcune storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.

Even in Sicily bad weather has arrived, now as I write, there is a furious storm in progress, yesterday "it was raining ashes" coming from a giant cloud spit from the Etna volcano .... (always umbrellas ... it is ....!) ... but until yesterday .... (except for a few rainy days) the good weather and, thanks to the warm sirocco and libeccio winds, coming from Africa ... have enticed the swimmers (among them the many tourists present in Taormina and surroundings ... ) to go to the beaches; certainly the situation has changed compared to the hottest months of July and August, in which months the beaches were always very crowded, in the last days of the end of October, however, the beaches presented themselves with the most distant bathers .... with presences constant, but not excessive.
..... with this series that I am about to post, with the arrival of the bad season, at least for this year, I abandon the photographs taken on the beaches.

Anche in Sicilia è arrivato il cattivo tempo, ora mentre scrivo, c’è un furioso temporale in corso, ieri “pioveva cenere” proveniente da una gigantesca nuvola sputata dal vulcano Etna….(sempre di ombrelli…si tratta….!) …ma fino ad avant’ieri….(tranne qualche giornata piovosa) il bel tempo e, complici i venti caldi di scirocco e di libeccio, provenienti dall’Africa… hanno invogliato i bagnanti (tra questi i molti turisti presenti a Taormina e dintorni…) a frequentare le spiagge; certamente è cambiata la situazione rispetto ai mesi più caldi di luglio e di agosto, nei quali mesi le spiagge erano sempre molto affollate, in questi ultimi giorni di fine ottobre invece le spiagge si sono presentate con i bagnanti più distanti tra loro….con presenze costanti, ma non eccessive.
….. con questa serie che mi appresto a postare, con l’arrivo oramai della brutta stagione, almeno per quest’anno, abbandono le fotografie colte sulle spiagge.
….. Sun, Beaches, Sea, Summer, but also ... Friendship, Fun, Loneliness, Nostalgia and ... a great desire to live with the great desire to return to the normal life of always before the pandemic (to always keep in mind that, even if the worse than the Covid-19 pandemic, it now seems to be behind us, the crisis is certainly not to be considered over just because mortality has reduced): I present here, on Flickr, a collection of exhibitions made in this hot summer, with traceable photographs, almost entirely, in the "beach photography" genre. The photographs were all taken in July-August 2022, on the beaches of the east coast of Sicily, and of the Ionian coast of Calabria.

Sole, Spiagge, Mare, Estate, ma anche ...Amicizia, Divertimento, Solitudine, Nostalgia e… tanta voglia di vivere col grande desiderio di ritornare alla vita normale di sempre ante-pandemia (da tenere sempre a mente che, anche se il peggio della pandemia da Covid-19, sembra ormai alle spalle, la crisi non è certo da considerarsi terminata solo perché la mortalità si è ridotta): presento qui, su Flickr, una raccolta di esposizioni realizzate in questa calda estate, con fotografie riconducibili, per la quasi totalità, al genere “beach photography”. Le fotografie sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di Luglio-Agosto 2022, sulle spiagge della costa orientale della Sicilia, e della costa ionica della Calabria.

... every two months, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina (Sicily) sends me on a mission for three days (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Saint Anne ... In my spare time, free from commitments of work, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs I present here were all taken in February of this year 2022; I took photos according to the dictates of street photography, I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand and very willing to let themselves be photographed (maybe ... that the islanders are open-minded, eager and used to communicate with strangers ..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work, some fishermen were intent on repairing their nets, a lady showed me one of her beautiful work, a blanket she made with knitting needles , hanging on her balcony (it reminded me of the shawls my grandmother made, also made with hand knitting needles); all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except three, taken in the dark in the port of Milazzo, the port of departure and arrival with hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands.
….ogni due mesi, la mia Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Messina, mi manda in missione per tre giorni (da Taormina) all’Ospedale Civile di Lipari, situato in via Sant’Anna …Nei ritagli di tempo, libero dagli impegni di lavoro, mi dedico alla mia passione fotografica; le fotografie che qui presento sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di febbraio di quest’anno 2022; ho realizzato foto secondo i dettami della fotografia di strada (street photography), ho realizzato alcuni ritratti, avendo incontrato sempre persone alla mano e molto disponibili nel lasciarsi fotografare (sarà forse…che la gente isolana è di mentalità aperta, desiderosa ed abituata a comunicare con gli estranei..?!), alcuni ritratti sono stati eseguiti a persone intente nei loro lavori, alcuni pescatori erano intenti a riparare le loro reti, una signora mi ha mostrato un suo bellissimo lavoro, una coperta da lei realizzata coi ferri a maglia, appesa nel suo balcone (mi ricordava gli scialli che realizzava mia nonna, anch’essi realizzati coi ferri a mano); tutte le foto sono state realizzate nella città di Lipari, tranne tre, realizzate col buio nel porto di Milazzo, scalo di partenza e di arrivo con gli aliscafi (ma c’è anche la nave) per le isole Eolie.

ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo incontrato prima, eseguendo dei loro ritratti, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
il vulcano Etna, nei giorni scorsi ha mostrato una intensa attività eruttiva, anche con intensi fenomeni chiamati "fontane di lava", emissioni a getto continuo perdurate intensamente per molti minuti, di altissime "fontane" di magma incandescente, molto spettacolari e non comuni, le fotografie dell'Etna sono state realizzate da Taormina;
ho provato a cogliere storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.

All the photos I present were taken on the beaches of the Italian town “Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Jonio” in Calabria (southern Italy); I made photos related to "beach photography" (a genre similar to "street photography");
... I photographed young and old people ... with a great desire for the sea and a great desire to dive into the sea to swim; I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
I used a particular photographic technique for some photographs at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate sulle spiagge del paese di “Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Jonio” in Calabria (Catanzaro); ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “beach photography” (un genere affine alla “street photography”);
ho fotografato persone giovani e meno giovani…con tanta voglia di mare e tanta voglia di immergersi in acqua per fare qualche nuotata; ho realizzato alcuni foto-ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, le ringrazio veramente tanto per la loro simpatia e la loro disponibilità; ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando sulle spiagge... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...

El Patio de los Leones es quizás uno de los conjuntos más elegantes de la arquitectura musulmana.
Está localizado en la Alhambra y marca el momento culminante de su arquitectura.
La fuente central tiene 12 leones que manan agua por su boca. En el borde de la taza hay inscrito un poema en árabe. Se cree que esta fuente pertenecía al palacio de un judío -Ibn Nagrela- ubicado en algún lugar de la Alcazaba.
La inscripción es de Ibn Zamrak y dice:
"Bendito sea aquel que otorgó al imán Muhammad bellas ideas para engalanar sus mansiones"
La fuente es un símbolo judío que representa a los doce toros sosteniendo la fuente que Salomón construyó en su palacio. Los leones también pueden representar a las doce tribus de Israel sosteniendo el Mar de Judea.

'El Patio de los Leones' is perhaps one of the finest ensembles of Muslim architecture.
It is located in the Alhambra and marks the climax of its architecture.
The central fountain has 12 lions which gush water from his mouth. There is a poem inscribed in Arabic. It is believed that this fountain belonged to a Jew's palace -Ibn Nagrela- in somewhere in the Alcazaba.
The inscription is from Ibn Zamrak and says:
"Blessed is who gave the Imam Muhammad beautiful ideas to decorate their mansions"
The source is a Jewish symbol which represents the twelve bulls holding the fountain that Solomon built in his palace. Lions may also represent the twelve tribes of Israel holding the Sea of Judea.
Knossos (alternative spellings Knossus, Cnossus, Greek Κνωσός, pronounced [knoˈsos]) is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete and considered as Europe's oldest city.
The name Knossos survives from ancient Greek references to the major city of Crete. The identification of Knossos with the Bronze Age site is supported by tradition and by the Roman coins that were scattered over the fields surrounding the pre-excavation site, then a large mound named Kephala Hill, elevation 85 m (279 ft) from current sea level. Many of them were inscribed with Knosion or Knos on the obverse and an image of a Minotaur or Labyrinth on the reverse, both symbols deriving from the myth of King Minos, supposed to have reigned from Knossos.[5] The coins came from the Roman settlement of Colonia Julia Nobilis Cnossus, a Roman colony placed just to the north of, and politically including, Kephala. The Romans believed they had colonized Knossos.[6] After excavation, the discovery of the Linear B tablets, and the decipherment of Linear B by Michael Ventris, the identification was confirmed by the reference to an administrative center, ko-no-so, Mycenaean Greek Knosos, undoubtedly the palace complex. The palace was built over a Neolithic town. During the Bronze Age, the town surrounded the hill on which the palace was built.
The palace was excavated and partially restored under the direction of Arthur Evans in the earliest years of the 20th century. Its size far exceeded his original expectations, as did the discovery of two ancient scripts, which he termed Linear A and Linear B, to distinguish their writing from the pictographs also present. From the layering of the palace Evans developed de novo an archaeological concept of the civilization that used it, which he called Minoan, following the pre-existing custom of labelling all objects from the location Minoan.
