Built in 1797 by Dr. William P. Chester of Pennsylvania, the Chester Inn is considered amongst the earliest boarding houses in East Tennessee. The inn is on the main street in Jonesborough (Tennessee's oldest town) next door to the International Storytelling Center.

Built for Horace K. Boyer, circa 1850, the home was restored... to its original Victorian splendor in 1988. Today the Inn has 10 rooms, two of which feature copper turrets.
