View of the St. Joseph, MI inner lighthouse from above the catwalk. The St. Joseph River on the left flows out into Lake Michigan.
Silvacane, Thoronet, Senanque, these austerely beautiful cistercian abbeys catch your breaths. You could not have imagined such simplicity and spiritual beauty built in stone. Silvacane lies on the left bank of the Durance river. It is the most recent of the three Cistercian abbeys in Provence and the only one that has not continued its monastic activity. The name comes from the Latin "silva cannorum" (forest of reeds). When the monks first settled here, they had to drain swamps before they could build the abbey (begin in 1174) and grow crops, hence the reference to reeds.
Vivid colors at the end of the day. Not such a neat composition but a cool light, i think. Have a great evening everybody and thanks for the 302,256 views!...:)

The shadow of dim delight
I gave myself up for lost
in the depth of a glad humiliation
---in the shadow of a dim delight.
The repose of the sun-embroidered green gloom
slowly spread over my heart.
I forgot for what I had traveled,
and I surrendered my mind without struggle
to the maze of shadows and songs.
At last, when I woke from my slumber and opened my eyes,
I saw thee standing by me, flooding my sleep with thy smile.
How I had feared that the path was long and wearisome,
and the struggle to reach thee was hard!

Today I counted the windows of our house... there are 40 of them! So every once
in a while I will take a picture from one of the windows.....until completing the 40 views.
This is the catholic church of our town, St. Laurentius.

wisteria flowers......when I discovered its leaves through my macrolens!
They are so soft 'n hairy!
This tulip was from a bunch I bought as a treat for myself recently. One flower seemed to catch the light creating this inner glow. So I just had to do something about it.
'L' to view on black if you have time.
HOPE YOU ALL HAD A NICE WEEKEND.....THANKS FOR LOOKING.
MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE ASKED ABOUT PAT. HE IS FEELING A BIT BETTER TODAY.

A long, horizontal black-and-white photograph showing faint, drifting traces of light floating in the darkness of a cemetery at night. Small luminous shapes appear scattered across the frame, as if suspended or vibrating in the air, creating a subtle rhythm of highlights emerging from deep black. The scene captures the fragile movement of light during a long exposure.
Photographed on a Mamiya C220 with an 80mm lens, aperture between f/5.6 and f/4, using multiple exposures of roughly 1 to 4 seconds each. Image made on October 30, 2025.
