Inner Universe. 2011.Mixed Media on canvas. 90 x 59 cm.
This painting is the first of twenty-four paintings that explore images taken from space of the Earth. It has been painted using acrylics, oils and various reactive chemicals on a reservoir of PVA glue. The inspiration for this painting was the eye of the storm. When I was painting this picture I was aware of the peacefulness inside the eye of the storm. The image is packed with dynamic chemical reactions. But the inner space of the vortex reminded me of an inner peacefulness, an inner peacefulness.
Tried my luck at merging to HDR in CS2. Took some fiddling but this is what I ended up with. I also did an exposure adjustment and sharpened using high pass filter to the merged image.Technique learned and practiced during course through Cambridge Library and Gallery lead by Tom Vogel www.vogel-creative.com/
The Inner Harbor is a historic seaport, tourist attraction, and iconic landmark of the City of Baltimore, Maryland. The name "Inner Harbor" is used not just for the water but for the surrounding area of the city, with approximate street boundaries of President Street to the east, Lombard Street to the north, Greene Street to the west, and Key Highway on the south. The harbor is within walking distance of Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium and has a water taxi that connects the Inner Harbor to Fells Point, Canton, and Fort McHenry.
