#Ukraine Will Resist, Berlin 22.02.2022

Nestled right on the shores of the stunning Loch Eck—considered by many to be the prettiest loch in all of Scotland—sits the charming Coylet Inn near Dunoon.
This building is steeped in local heritage. Dating all the way back to the 17th century, it originally served as a vital coaching inn, providing a welcome stop for travelers navigating the Cowal Peninsula. Back then, it was known simply as "The Loch Eck Inn," a name it held for many years before becoming The Coylet. It’s a beautiful spot where centuries of history meet an incredible landscape
Braunau on the Inn is a nice historic city in Austria -
but suffers hard by being the birthplace of Adolf Hitler. The house is marked by a big granite stone from KZ Mauthausen near Linz.
Recently the Austrian authorities decided to transform this house into a police station. Hopefully a way to avoid Nazi pilgrimage to this place, and hopefully a good way to handle this kind of history and "heritage".
Say no to fascism, antisemitism, nationalism, racism - stand up for human rights and democracy - much endangered in these times - even in the motherlands of democracy...
This is the only time we had a hot meal out, but it was on our anniversary, so the right time to indulge! The landlady of the Pelican Inn was adorable - she must have been in her 80s but very popular with the local people who called in at the same time. So friendly - we queued up at the bar to find out how to place our order and she just told us to decide what we wanted and order at the 'post office' (her name for the bar!) and it would be brought over to us shortly, and we had a quick chat about where we came from and where we were staying, etc! Made us feel so welcome - I got the impression she'd been doing this job for years.
Taken during a sudden blizzard, The Drovers Inn Hotel, Inverarnan near Loch lomond is probably the most famous inn and pub in Scotland. This 300 year old inn is situated on the A82 just past Ardlui at the top of the loch.
This is The Mermaid Inn referred to in my previous photo. Rye was once a thriving port at the head of an embayment of the English Channel, and almost entirely surrounded by the sea. Over the subsequent centuries, the coastline has moved further away due to a combination of natural silting up from storm damage, changes in the flow of the River Rother, and tidal changes, along with deliberate land reclamation from the sea. Rye’s historical association with the sea has included providing ships for the service of the Crown in time of war, and being involved in smuggling.
Located on Mermaid Street, which was once the town's main road, the current building dates from 1420 and has 16th-century additions in the Tudor style, but cellars built in 1156 survive. As mentioned in the commentary attached to the photo of The Old Bell the Mermaid Inn has a strong connection with the notorious Hawkhurst Gang of smugglers, who used it in the 1730s and 1740s as one of their strongholds. Some of the smugglers, their mistresses and other characters are reported to haunt the inn, in fact the events in one room have been described as "one of the most well-organised ghostly scenarios anywhere”.
The inn has rooms for overnight guests but there is no way my wife would stay there!
Day 221
Phil took me to the Salutation Inn in Ham. It has won several CAMERA awards including National Pub of the Year in 2014 and Gloucestershire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2014 & 2015. It is a real treat coming here!
We stayed the night at the Berkely Arms and visited a couple of pubs in the town, including the one at the hotel. For a Sunday night, it was surprisingly busy!
Thank you Phil xx

After a long day of exploring the Petrified Forest National Park, we stopped briefly to enjoy the sunset at the famed Painted Desert Inn, a great example of Pueblo Revival style architecture. The inn is an historic complex at the edge Petrified Forest National Park, in Apache County, eastern Arizona. It is located off Interstate 40 and near the original alignment of historic U.S. Route 66, overlooking the Painted Desert.
The Freemasons Tavern (also known as the Freemasons Inn and the Freemasons Inn and Restaurant) is a 19th-century pub in the Brunswick Town area of Hove, part of the English city of Brighton and Hove.
Built in the 1850s in a Classical style similar to the surrounding buildings in the rapidly growing Brunswick Town area, it was given a "spectacular" renovation when a restaurant was added in the 1920s. Local architecture firm Denman & Sondesigned an ornate Art Deco interior and an elaborate, brightly coloured entrance adorned with Masonic symbols. both the exterior and the interior survive in excellent condition.
The tavern is a Grade II Listed building.

The Confederates used this area as their base camp in late June 1863. In the early hours on July 1, 1863 troops marched west that led to the first day battle of Gettysburg.
Ghost hunters also claim this to be one of the most haunted buildings.
A view of one of the buildings at the All-Star Music resort at WDW. I had a real laugh when I tried to use generative AI to remove a couple of people in the central opening. The AI replaced them with a HUGE child. Several times. After the stitch in my side (from laughing) subsided, I got it done with "content-aware fill" instead. Another person in the picture was easier to remove and GAI did OK with that one. The GoPro didn't handle the dynamic range very well, so there's a lot of editing and noise reduction. Happy Sliders Sunday.

The famous former inn in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, which has become a haven for ghost hunters and investigators.
This was taken in the parlor area inside the Bridgeport Inn. This where you check into your room and then sit down and enjoy the wood stove. The stove has its own history as it came from the ghost town of Bodie. The inn is located about 20 miles north of Mono Lake. The was built in 1877 and has a lot of character. Downstairs also has a restaurant and a bar. The bedrooms were all upstairs and have been modernized. This was a great place to stop over before going back the other side of the Sierras.
Subway Inn on the Upper East Side was in business for more than 77 years before it was forced to close in December 2014 after it's lease was not renewed. One of its most famous customers was Marilyn Monroe , who filmed the "Seven Year Itch" nearby and stopped in for drinks. Arsemio Salinas, who has owned the #divebar since 2007, after working as a porter, bartender and manager for the original owner, luckily was able to relocate the #bar less than 2 blocks away at Second Avenue and 60th Street and re-installed the iconic #vintage #neonsign, the original wooden bar and stools and even the bar booths.
