Families reunited with Airmen assigned to the 480th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron during the squadronâs return to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, Oct. 6, 2016. Deployed Soldiers assigned to Role II participated in a mass casualty (MASCAL) exercise Sep. 18, at Al Asad Airbase (AAAB), Iraq. By exercising a MASCAL, medical personnel had an opportunity to practice immediate medical care capabilities at AAAB. The soldiers worked alongside coalition partners from Denmark and Norway to train on medical care, walking blood bank, triage care, and handling an enemy prisoner of war.
