We had a little photo session on top of a building in Sankt Pauli, Hamburg. Belen is from Uruguay and just loves her maté.
I tried it, but I think I'm not becoming a big fan... (Sorry, Belen)

This House Finch was so bright and beautiful, he added a bit of colour to the yard for a few minutes. Not too many birds about the yard these days, all seeking a shadier location to beat this heat.
Las gotas de rocío se vuelven de color ámbar en los frutos de hinojo (Foeniculum vulgare), como si fueran una infusión.

Montornès de Segarra, Lleida.
In the morning as I experimented with some ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) images and glanced at the photos on the camera screen, some of them reminded me of myself receiving a “light infusion.” In this image the light coming through our bedroom window seemed to show the motion of traveling in through window, twisting and angling right toward the place where I wake up each morning…like the light was sent directly to shine on me and fill me with some of what I’d need to make it through the day. I had the thought that this was the figurative equivalent of having an IV put into my arm where I would receive an “infusion” of light.
Day 12
____________________________
As a way to cope with circumstances beyond my control, survive and work to keep fighting for life I decided to try to take at least one photo (or more) each day. I call this “a photo (or more) a day.” Practicing this form of therapeutic photography helps me work to focus on the present moment, gives me something familiar and enjoyable to focus on as I use photography skills that have become like second-nature to me and being able to view the images I capture helps me recall what I was thinking, feeling and noticing at the moment when I created the photos. More of the photos from this series can be seen on my Instagram account
I may not always have the energy, time or capacity to share photos from this series—especially with the very challenging circumstances my family and I are experiencing—and will do my best to continue taking a photo (or more) a day even if I’m not able to share.
Tweaking in-camera white balance to enhance the blues then lightening the image with a Kim Klassen texture. Flora is proving a useful vehicle for my fairly steep learning curve...fun too.

After having a think about my procedure for making a cup of tea I knew the one thing I do is to leave the teabag in the cup for a few minutes to let it infuse the flavour as I do like a strong cup of tea.
Fortunately the cup I usually use is a clear glass one so I was able to focus on the teabag inside the cup and back light the scene using my flashgun and a white sheet of card placed behind.
I experimented using both hot and cold water and after taking quite a few exposures this was one of only a few I was happy with.
One thing I did discover is that it is now time to clean the sensor on my D7000 once again as I had to make use of the spot healing brush a bit more than normal.
