Do you know anything about it? Hidden in a quiet corner of the Lakshore East Park this private school caught my eye a while ago. It was a pleasant discovery and it took me some time to decide how to photograph it. I’m really loving the IR Chrome look for this scene and I’m enjoying showcasing some less familiar parts of this town. What do you think?
Are you ready for this? It feels like scenes like this one might be just around the corner. What do you think?
Does it ever get old? This image of the skyline is taken along the shore of Lake Michigan. An iconic sight, featuring a stunning array of new skyscrapers and architectural marvels that rise high above the Navy Pier! What do you think?
What’s up guys? Here is another colorful IR image from downtown Chicago. What are your thoughts on it?
Are you a fan? I certainly am a huge fan of the Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture. His obsession and observance of nature really shows in all his work. If you are ever near Pittsburgh/PA this is a must place to visit. Maybe the best timing is now because there is no crowds at all. After 3pm we almost had this place only for ourselves. I shot this IR Chrome to simulate the fall color and if you are interested in anything IR please watch out for my free class coming soon at chicagophotoclasses.
Hope you all had a great day! I’m currently sorting through the incredible photos from my recent trip to Colorado. I visited some fantastic spots, and I’m excited to share them with you. Here’s an otherworldly shot I captured with my infrared camera, featuring the highest peak of the Rocky Mountains in the distance. Enjoy!
A peaceful waterfall (and a peaceful day!) at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. Water cascades over mossy rocks, surrounded by the soft mist of the forest, with the infrared light revealing a dreamlike atmosphere. I really enjoyed the interplay of light and shadow.
I'd never been here before. Such a beautiful place!
Hope you guys a staying safe? I’m keeping myself positive and maneuvering around the town revisiting some classic locations. On this day we had blue skies in the forecast, perfect time for IR specifically because I wanted to shoot this with 720nm filter. Something a bit different I thought. While waiting for the sun to comes out I kept shooting the pre-dawn ligh just to see how it looks like. To my big surprise IR light was already visible and it was looking amazing. One thing I love about IR is that it doesn’t matter how much you think you know about it, there is always something that will come out as a complete surprise! What do you think?
Can you spot people? While strolling down Chicago river this reflection caught my eye. Having a window cleaning crew in the frame was just a cherry on top! What do you think?
How’s your week going so far? We spent last two days anticipating the snow storm that was all over the news. You can guess what happened, for a sec it looked exciting but all of that went away in a matter of hours :) So in case you are wondering this is how Chicago looks like with the mood turned on! What do you think?
Good morning, friends! I hope you’re having a great Sunday. This summer, I’ve been capturing more infrared shots, and I’m excited to share them with you soon. I really hope they resonate with you as much as they do with me!
I trust your week is kicking off well! Allow me to share some breathtaking landscapes from my local surroundings. Until our paths cross once more!
Good morning, everyone! I hope you’re all doing great. Last weekend was an absolute blast—I spent the day exploring the University of Chicago campus, capturing some incredible infrared shots. We covered a ton of ground, and I’m so excited to finally share the results with you all! There’s something about shooting in infrared that brings out these surreal, almost dreamlike vibes, and this place was the perfect backdrop for it. Can’t wait to hear what you think! Enjoy the shot, and drop a comment if you have any questions or just want to say hey! Cheers!

I hope your week is going well? I wanted to share a nice photo from Holland, MI, featuring a lighthouse I really like. It's a bit far, so I don't see it often. Have a great day!
Are you ready for a change? Fall is almost here and we can’t wait to dive in. This is the IR image shot in the Ryerson Forest Preserve last week. What do you think?
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. Here’s a black-and-white shot of the local Bahá’í Temple, draped in serene white. It’s a fascinating spot to explore if you’re ever in the area. Enjoy!

Happy weekend guys! Here and there I try to remind myself that monochrome photography is where I thrive. It's not about flashy hues, but about light and shadow playing together.
Just like in life, limitations often bring out amazing things. What do you think?
Taken with a full-spectrum-modified Canon Rebel XT with a MaxMax X-Nite XDP filter.
This shot was hand-held, and shot with a reasonably shallow depth-of-field. Basically, it's crap. For one reason or another, I shot this in .JPG, as well. As such, the amount of actual processing that I could do without baking the image quality was minimal. By the same, having shot this with a Rebel as opposed to my IR 5D, well, the IQ doesn't satisfy me at all. It feels extraordinarily noisy, soft, and the dynamic range is practically abysmal.
A learning experience, with a decent enough effect and composition. Crap, but somewhat presentable.
I trust you're having a fantastic day! I'm currently revisiting some of the images I captured in Indiana, but this time, I've chosen to experiment with infrared photography. It was a beautifully foggy and misty morning, but the crystal-clear skies in the background inspired me to give the images a frosty and ethereal edit. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on the final results!

This image beautifully frames Chicago's skyline with delicate tree branches. The contrast between the city's sharp lines and the soft, natural shapes creates a serene and timeless feel. It’s a peaceful moment captured in the midst of urban life. Big shoutout to Nick for introducing me to this stunning location.
Hey folks! I can’t believe I almost forgot about this shot. It’s from one of my favorite spots at Montrose Beach here in Chicago. While my wife is usually busy photographing birds, I get to explore my own style of photography. Hope you enjoy it!
Monday-fun day, right? Not for me :) After spending two days at home I feel I need some air and that’s when the works come in. So getting some air will have to wait. Until then let’s look at this amazing building from the Northwestern Campus. What do you think?
Do you have the same problem? After returning back from Detroit I had a sensory overload. We had so much fun and the experience was more than we can hope for that I had to let my head cool down a bit before I dive deep in to the editing some of the shots. I have to thank Alanna St Laurent (@alannastlaurentphotography), a great photographer and above all a great human being, for making sure that we don’t miss out on anything. And we didn’t! So 4 days and 350GB of images later we came home happy. This is the 3 image and 100MPX vertorama of the beautiful Wayne County Building in the very downtown. What do you think?
“Black and white photography erases time from the equation.” - Jason Peterson. I feel that this is an Ideal quote for this image. Or in general for all timeless scenes or historical subjects, this quote reflects on how black and white images can feel both contemporary and timeless, connecting past and present.
