An infrared image of the evergreens at Reaume Park along the Detroit River in Windsor, Ontario. The infrared filter turns the foliage white. Thanks for looking.
I cannot take credit for this wonderful infrared picture. It was captured by fellow photography enthusiast Max Tiraquon who kindly allowed me to post it on this flickr stream.
Now that it's gloomy and frozen outside, it is nice to see some lush radiant IR vegetation, and flowing non-icy water. 😊
Here it's flat and would be possible, but I don't particularly enjoy fighting through the bushes (especially with a backpack and tripod + pano head + camera + expensive filter on my sholder), so for these type of things, exploring gorges etc., I just wear old shoes without socks and wade in the stream, much easier and there are still enough obstacles, it's not like it's getting boring or so. And the option of dropping gear in the water or on some rocks sustains attention for sure.
Source for this a 33 piece mercator projection, with 339MP, ~220° angle of view, cropped to 8:5 with 22009 x 13756px and the same angle.

This is my 3rd photo from the Ards infrared collection. Ards is in Donegal, Ireland. It is a beautiful spot you should not miss.
Infrared Landscape shot with Canon EOS 7D using a 590 nm converted infrared lens with Conversion by LifePixel
I found this old truck one day while driving around remote dirt roads and I decided to try an infrared shot. This truck was interesting because there was a bird's nest in the engine compartment.

We've been on our travels for a month or two but glad to be back on good Old Blighty. This was taken at Trelissick Gardens in Cornwall. Fun to carry a 35mm lens with Infrared R72 filter sometimes, you never really know how it turns out until you process them :)

Bought a Canon 1200D that had been converted to infrared and we finally got out there to see if we could get some shots. It was a very misty day. A lot of experimenting needed but am loving the dreamy quality of this shot.
Infrared Solutions Camera
This beauty was gifted to me by a friend and fellow photographer. It is a thermal camera used by contractors and scientists to see heat in the infrared spectrum. It is fairly large (see 6" ruler in the photo) and quite heavy and uses different wavelengths and has much higher sensitivity than photo infrared cameras, both digital and film.
It is a bit quirky and I'm not sure if I will be able to get images out of it but I have been having lots of fun working with it.
Check out the mirrored lens!
I saw that there was going to be some sun at Mosier today, so I thought it would be a good time to test out the new IR camera. By the time I got there, though, the clouds had declared victory. I took a picture anyway. It’s not bad.
Focusing with an IR camera is not a simple thing. I remember from many years of using IR film, that many vintage lenses have an infrared mark that shows you exactly where to set the focus. Modern auto-focus lenses… not so much. I though that I could just stop down to F16 like I have done with film, but the image here is still a little fuzzy. I will have to experiment further. Some sunshine would help.
