De facto allies. Today, here in Kyiv, in the heart of our country, we are taking a decisive step for the security of the entire community of free nations.

We see who threatens us. Who is ready to kill and maim. Who in order to expand his zone of control does not stop at any savagery.

On February 24, the first full-scale attack on Ukraine was carried out. The first!

Russia would not have stopped at our borders if we had not stopped it. Other states would have been under attack. The Baltic countries, Poland, Moldova and Georgia, Kazakhstan...

Russia claimed to subjugate various nations of Europe and Asia. Claimed six months ago. This criminal ambition is breaking down in Ukraine. It was broken down in the suburbs of Kyiv and Chernihiv. In "Azovstal". In the Sumy region and Kharkiv region. On Zmiinyi Island. It will be broken down in Donbas and in the south of Ukraine when we liberate them. Definitely - in Crimea, in the free Ukrainian Crimea.

The entire territory of our country will be liberated from this enemy - the enemy not only of Ukraine, but also of life itself, humanity, law and truth.

Russia already knows this. It feels our power. It sees that it is here, in Ukraine, that we prove the strength of our values. And that is why it is in a hurry. Organizes this farce with the attempted annexation. Tries to steal something that does not belong to it. Wants to rewrite history and redraw borders with murders, torture, blackmail and lies.

Ukraine will not allow that.

Today I held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The meeting of the National Security and Defense Council has just ended. We have a decision.

First – it is only the path of strengthening Ukraine and ousting the occupiers from our entire territory that restores peace. We will complete this path.

Second – Ukraine was and remains a leader in negotiation efforts. It was our state that always offered Russia to reach an agreement on coexistence on equal, honest, decent and fair terms. It is obvious that this is impossible with this Russian president. He does not know what dignity and honesty are. Therefore, we are ready for a dialogue with Russia, but already with another president of Russia.

And third – we must de jure record everything we have already achieved de facto. It is in Ukraine that the fate of democracy in the confrontation with tyranny is being decided. It is here, with the firmness of our state borders, that we can secure the firmness of the borders of all European states. We can guarantee that no one else will dare to bring war back to our continent.

It is here, in Ukraine, that the values of our Euro-Atlantic community have obtained real vital energy. The strength of the nation that fights for freedom, and the strength of the nations that help in this fight.

We are de facto allies. This has already been achieved. De facto, we have already completed our path to NATO. De facto, we have already proven interoperability with the Alliance’s standards, they are real for Ukraine - real on the battlefield and in all aspects of our interaction.

We trust each other, we help each other and we protect each other. This is what the Alliance is. De facto.

Today, Ukraine is applying to make it de jure. Under a procedure consistent with our significance for the protection of our entire community. Under an accelerated procedure.

We know it's possible. We have seen Finland and Sweden start accession to the Alliance this year without a Membership Action Plan.

This is fair. This is also fair for Ukraine. This is the consolidation at the level of the treaty of what has already been achieved in life and what are our values.

We understand that this requires the consensus of all members of the Alliance. We understand that it is necessary to reach such a consensus. And therefore, while this is happening, we offer to implement our proposals regarding security guarantees for Ukraine and all of Europe in accordance with the Kyiv Security Compact, which was developed and presented to our partners.

Security has no alternatives. But determination is needed to guarantee it.

We are taking our decisive step by signing Ukraine's application for accelerated accession to NATO.

Today, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine adopted a decision to impose sanctions on significant individuals and legal entities of Russia who did not have the courage to speak out in defense of humanity and international law, or who in one way or another are involved in aggressive steps against Ukraine and the community of democratic nations.

And at the same time, I am addressing the people's deputies of Ukraine: at the next session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a draft law on the nationalization of all Russian assets will be considered, which should significantly simplify this procedure. Please endorse this bill without delay.

We are completing the dismantling of Russian influence on Ukraine, Europe and the world.

I have often wondered how folks take such moody portraits, so I had a play, this is my real fist attempt at using light to create a mood. I'm sure now that I have tried it I will be trying lots more things, I am still learning so I will improve.

Sometimes we all have battles with our conscience, I have them pretty much everyday, I am without a doubt my own worst enemy. So it feels like I have my own devils, maybe I do ............

Beamish - The Living Museum of the North

Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum is an open-air museum located at Beamish, near the town of Stanley, County Durham, England. The museum's guiding principle is to preserve an example of everyday life in urban and rural North East England at the climax of industrialisation in the early 20th century.

Much of the restoration and interpretation is specific to the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, together with portions of countryside under the influence of industrial revolution in 1825. On its 300 acres (120 ha) estate it utilises a mixture of translocated, original and replica buildings; a huge collection of artefacts, working vehicles and equipment; as well as livestock and costumed interpreters.

A French sea captain agreed in 1838 to purchase land in the area from local chiefs, and settlers arrived in New Zealand from Rochefort in France in 1840. Given that they had set sail on the understanding that they owned the land, the French were allowed to settle, and they originally named the town Port Louis-Philippe.

I'm under an NDA so I must keep the details to myself, BUT I was offered a job as a social media influencer. Can you imagine that? I asked them what the hours were and they said they expected me to be socializing all hours of the night and day. There were no benefits, no insurance, no holidays and they expected me to go on about all sorts of products like perfume and charcoal grills and TV shows that I've never even heard of. Silly. Benefits would have included having lunch with the above pictured executives, but my time is valuable, too.

Who shall tell of the influence of the Battle of Point Pleasant upon the history of subsequent years? It stands as the closing scene in the drama of colonial history.

Bancroft says "This Battle was the most bloody & best contested in the annals of forest warfare. The Heroes of that day proved themselves worthy to found states-the royal governors of Virginia & the Virginian Army in the valley of the Scioto. Nullified the act of parliament which extended the province of Quebec to the Ohio & in the name of the King of Great Britain. Triumphantly maintained for Virginia the western & northwestern jurisdiction which she claimed as her chartered right."

Roosevelt says: "It is worth noting that all the aftertime leaders of the west were engaged in some way in Lord Dunmore's War."-Certainly in all the contests waged against the northwestern Indians during the last half of the eighteenth century. There was no other where the whites inflicted so great a relative loss on their foes. Its results were most important. -It rendered possible the settling of Kentucky & the winning of the west. Had it not been for Lord Dunmore's War, it is more than likely that, when the Colonies achieved their freedom. They would have found their western boundary at the Allegheny Mountains.

It is true that the English commissioners at the Treaty of Paris in September 1783, asserted that the crest of the Allegheny Mountains should be the western boundary of the United States, & in this, they were supported by the Spanish Representative. But, because of the settlement of Kentucky which rendered possible the conquest of the Illinois Country by the General Assembly of Virginia in 1778; & the establishment of civil government therein-all due to the victory of the Virginians at Point Pleasant-the Mississippi River was agreed upon as the Western Boundary of the New Nation. By the terms of the Treaty of Camp Charlotte, in the Valley of Scioto, following the battle, the northwestern Indians kept quiet for three years. This enabled General Gates to collect the American soldiery from the Penobscot to the Savannah, & thus compel General Burcoyne to surrender the British Army at Saratoga in 1777. This brought France to the rescue, & that meant American Independence, because of its influence on subsequent history the Battle of Point Pleasant has been classed by some writers among those of the revolution.

Das Neumann Haus, a historic building in the heart of the rural town of Laidley earlier this year. Das Neumann Haus Museum is an historic house museum located in the town of Laidley, Queensland, Australia, on the corner of Patrick Street and William Street.

"Das Neumann Haus Museum

The house, a colonial style weatherboard building,[2] was built by German immigrant Hermann Neumann in 1893 as his private residence. The house has been restored to its former condition and refurnished in the style of the 1930s. It opened in 1998 to the public as a house museum. A visitor information centre, a café and a gift shop are also operated within the building."
