Sunningfields Crescent London NW4. Virtually identical to nearby house in Sunningfields Road. Perhaps a "stock" design for the developer/builder who spread suburban housing over these previously agricultural fields in the late 19th C

Psst! One of the people in this picture might just be the inspiration for this t-shirt. (Hint: It's not the one standing on two legs.)

Thanks to my sister-in-law Kathy for the fun gift!

The Temple of Heaven, located in the southeastern part of central Beijing, is a historic complex of religious buildings where Ming and Qing emperors performed annual ceremonies of prayer for good harvests. Constructed from 1406 to 1420, this site reflects a cosmogony of great importance for Chinese civilization and has influenced architectural and planning principles in the Far East for centuries.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Temple of Heaven is a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design, symbolizing the relationship between heaven and earth, which was central to the Chinese worldview.

One of my favorite pics during my travels in Europe. It was such a serene and relaxing place, once you forgot about what it was used for!

We've all studied the glory days of Roman power and expansion, but it didn't hit home with me until I traveled around Europe and saw just how far the empire spread. This coliseum, located in Arles, France, is a perfect example of Roman prestige and influence. While today Arles is a sleepy town in Southern France, in its heyday it was an important crossroads for European trade.

At the Fig & Olive, Meat Packing district, NYC. I felt there was a strong contrast between the cute kid with napkins around his neck, and his worldly parents with metal chains.

Photographer and videographer Alex Prager has an affinity for the pulp fiction heroine: many of her photographs appear to be film stills taken directly from a David Lynch or Hitchcock film but with a Cindy Sherman influence. Using brightly colored wigs, vintage attire, and dramatic makeup, Prager creates her own leading ladies. Living and working in Los Angeles.

Recently included in MoMA's exhibition New Photography 2010, Prager has taken a turn from her past occupations, which include selling knives in Switzerland and working in a mall food court. Although self-trained, Prager effectively executes her unique vision, saying, "Because I don't really know what's right or wrong, I simply make images that I think are cool, and it so happens that people agree with me right now."
