Episode Two: The inflation strikes back

After months and months of buying orders, the young Sir Prime is making some promissing progress on his biggest LEGO project yet.

The Millennium Falcon...

While things have been looking good the prices have gone up, making it diffucult to make large orders.

But Prime is convinced to finish what he started ! Sitting at 2,234 pieces out of 4,133 he can't backdown now, but will he spend the resources ment for the Falcon be used for other figures or projects ? Will he finish it on time for Episode VIII ?

one green onion at a time!

Green onions... they used to sell 2 small bunches for CAD $1 (75 U.S. cents) and lately they are going for CAD $1.79 each small bunch. So the price went up by 260%!

We use a little bit of green onions frequently, yet as a garnish we don't use a lot of it. So I buy green onions for a dish and most of it ends up wilting and spoiling before we get to use it up.

Last weekend, I decide to grow green onions in my bedroom. My way to fight soaring food prices, one green onion at a time!

Inflation and lack of gas subsidy have made Indonesian (and perhaps other developing countries) coastal fishermen live under the standard of living. One major problem that contributes to it is illiteracy in harnessing fishing technology to support their work, while the rocketing gas price demands more efficiency.

Meanwhile, at Jerry's apartment...

Elaine: Wow, look who's coming for brunch! Robotman!

Cyborg: I'm not Robotman. I'm Cyborg.

Jerry: Vic and I knew each other back in the football days!

Kramer: Did you play football, Jerry?

Jerry: Not on the field. But you remember how we'd fold the paper into little triangles...

...laughter...

Uncle Leo: Helloooo~~!

Elaine: So, you're part machine?

Cyborg: I have cybernetically controlled tech implants to replace body parts I lost in an accident.

Jerry: He's like Steve Austin!

Elaine: The wrestler??

...laughter...

Jerry: No! Colonel Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man.

Elaine: Well, hello, Cyborg.

...laughter...

Elaine: You're worth six million dollars?

Cyborg: *sigh* My tech cost way more than that.

Jerry: Elaine, Austin was in the 70s! Inflation? Newer tech?

Uncle Leo: Helloooo~~!

...laughter...

Kramer: Yeah, yeah, so let's order in. How about Chinese? Hop Sing's sound good?

Elaine: I'm blacklisted there.

...laughter...

Kramer: Okay, let's get some pea pods. How about you, Cyborg?

Cyborg: About six million dollars worth.

...laughter...

...applause...

Balanced Inflation, sounds like a term our politicians might use, while we're having Pain At The Pump.

It came as a surprise that the initial unfolding of the universe from the "dot" into more or less sizeable structure took unproportionally short period of time, and only then further and much slower expansion continued. Or may be I just got it all wrong

Hot air balloon inflating.

A Newsweek article from December 12, 1955 by Henry Hazlitt

Thought I’d add some colour to the top of my photostream. These inflating balloons were captured at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta a few years ago. The fiesta runs during the second weekend in August but the balloon ascent is frequently called off owing to the “typical” British weather. Thanks for viewing.
