Took this yesterday in Portage Indiana near where I'd parked for the evening. Been busy, as usual. Went into another cavern a several days ago in Independence Missouri. Much tighter than the Carthage caverns. I'll post something from there sometime down the road. It was the most challenging cavern I've been in, lots of tight turns and pretty dark and creepy. Anyway, hope everyone is having a good week and weekend ahead.
On the anniversary celebrating the declaration of independence from England and the birth of democracy in the United States, this large mature bald eagle showed up near our house, its feathers ruffled after hearing rumors of an attempted coups d'etat and questionable decisions by the high court of the land. Hoping democratic order would remain, it eventually spread its wings and took off.
Happy 4th of July weekend the time of year my dogs nealy die of anxiety so people can blow stuff up . . .
I hope everyone has a great holiday. I don't even know what I'm going to do tonight, but I don't want to stay in. I'll add the full credits later on :).
The largest fireworks display in the Midwest blasted off in Columbus during the blue hour. That cast a nice soft light over a lone island on the river which turned into a party of kayakers.

Fireworks at #Helsinki, #Finland, celebrating Finland's 100th independence day.
Note to self: What is with me and fireworks? Once again I overexposed most of my shots and now I have done the same mistake in last 10 attempts to photograph fireworks. Next time il'l get 'em! At least I managed to salvage one shot, thanks to my 0.6 stop graduated filter courtesy of #Leefilters.
