Representative Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) calls for the administration to declassify its report on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, saying the public needs to be able to have a debate on the U.S.-Saudi relationship.

On Tuesday, March 3, Sen. Wyden (D-OR), Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ), and fiancée of the late Jamal Khashoggi, Hatice Cengiz, hosted a press conference to discuss the administration’s refusal to publicly release details on the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi and to announce next steps for securing transparency and accountability for his murder.

Earlier this year, both the local Dorset and some national 'redtops' like the Daily Star and The Mirror ran their almost annual "Bug Invaders!" "creepy-crawly horror crisis" "holiday makers afraid to go to the beach" "killer rash" "council inaction disgrace" stories about the Brown-tailed Moth (Euproctis chrysorrhoea).

ok, so for a short time in spring, their caterpillars emerge from winter 'nests' and if you touch the hairs of the caterpillar, you will get a rash. Then they pupate into adults, lay eggs and turn into the caterpillars you see above that are building their winter homes in which to basically hibernate....and so the seasons turn.

But of course in our modern world, stupidity and the blame culture is far more common than a basic knowledge of how ecosystems work, let alone how those ecosystems have been completely messed up by intensive agriculture, pesticides, herbicides, not to mention our incessant urban sprawl. So, the local council needs to eradicate these caterpillars one way or another, insecticides, fires...hell, let's NUKE the blighters. That'll sort 'em! Oh and whilst at it, the councils should also destroy every single patch of those pesky stinging nettles; send boats out to net jellyfish; mist the air with bug spray to get the flying ants; make bee hives illegal; employ a tic officer to protect tax payers from tics and if in America, call Monsanto in double-quick time to deal with that Poison Ivy.

To put it bluntly, peoples' lack of personal common sense concerning the natural world drives me crazy. I'm not going to stop you if you want to roll about naked in nettles. Go ahead, stick your hand in that wasp nest. That'll make you whoop and holler. Heck, why not pick up that Rattlesnake and get a selfie! It might be your last.

Use common sense and any wildlife knowledge you have and as a general rule, with some exceptions, leave wildlife in the natural world alone and it will do the same to you.

CHICAGO – December 12, 2012. Governor Pat Quinn today was joined by Illinois college students to discuss how inaction on pension reform is threatening Monetary Award Program (MAP) college scholarships and access to higher education in Illinois. One after one, the students made clear how access to higher education changed their lives and prepared them for a job and career. Today’s event is part of the governor’s ongoing effort to educate and activate the people of Illinois to push for pension reform as he continues to work with legislators on the issue. MAP grants are need-based college scholarships that provide students with merit who are in need across Illinois with the opportunity to attend a higher education institution. These grants help cover tuition and fee costs at approved universities and colleges in Illinois, and do not need to be repaid by the student. 18,000 students lost their MAP grant scholarships this year because of budget reductions to education. Currently, only half of eligible MAP grant applicants are able to receive the aid they need to attend college.

🇺🇸/🇬🇧/🇳🇿 For some time now, I have been reflecting on what drives us to act. This questioning is what led to the creation of iNAction Collective: a space for actions capable of moving the world — or individual worlds — through the arts and web2 and web3 technologies.

Therapy often invites us to separate ourselves from, or at least dismantle, traumas originating in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood. From this perspective, inevitable questions arise: how should we act? Which attitudes are considered right, wrong, precise, or completely disordered? What is it that moves and guides us toward becoming better versions of ourselves day after day?

There is a parable that speaks about seeds: those that fully germinate and those that grow only marginally, suffocated among thorns. This symbolic image, combined with the reflections above, led me to spend several hours working on this double exposure.

At first glance, it is a simple action — and it truly is. A child walking to the edge of Laranjal Beach and returning. The entire sequence was captured within an interval of one to two minutes. Once I arrived home, I engaged in an intense process of experimentation until reaching the final result.

The work materializes as a double exposure composed of a series of masks: two photographs, a “before” and an “after,” articulated through transparency masks and layers set to multiplication mode.

I took several pictures at my first EXPOSURE show. My initial idea was to post them all. Guess I got too lazy :)

Then I though I’ll search for a snap that sums it all up. Unfortunately couldn’t find one. Then I saw the pictures posted by elston . But, fortunately enough I could make this ...

Guess sometimes you just have to make the best of what you have at hand. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I do.
