How feeling guilty can be either good or bad for you.

Guilt is a common feeling of emotional distress that signals us when our actions or inactions have caused or might cause harm to another person—physical, emotional, or otherwise. Because guilt typically occurs in “micro-bursts” of ...

The Icelandic horse is a breed of horse developed in Iceland. Although the horses are small, at times pony-sized, most registries for the Icelandic refer to it as a horse. Icelandic horses are long-lived and hardy. In their native country they have few diseases; Icelandic law prevents horses from being imported into the country and exported animals are not allowed to return. The Icelandic displays two gaits in addition to the typical walk, trot, and canter/gallop commonly displayed by other breeds. The only breed of horse in Iceland, they are also popular internationally, and sizable populations exist in Europe and North America. The breed is still used for traditional farm work in its native country, as well as for leisure, showing, and racing.

A crowd of news reporters mingling with curious passerbys gather outside the White House gates March 11, 1965 while a group of civil rights protesters stage a sit-in inside the mansion.

The demonstrators entered the East Wing of the White House with a regular tour group and then sat-down vowing to stay while they staged a hunger strike in protest of federal inaction in response to police violence against civil rights demonstrators in Selma, Alabama.

One White House staffer was quoted as saying, “I don’t believe anything like this has happened since the British came in 1812”

Police ejected the demonstrators around 6 p.m.

President Lyndon Johnson was in his office almost directly above the protesters while Lady Bird Johnson exited the White House, but did not see the demonstrators because staff had erected a screen between the hall she used and those sitting-in.

The protesters demanded action on a voting rights bill following the violent attack on demonstrators at the Edmond Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama.

Confrontational protests in Washington, D.C. continued for days after the attack in Selma and included sit-ins at the Capitol and blocking traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House as well as pickets and mass demonstrations.

The groups demanded Congress and the President act on a voting rights protection bill. The incident at the bridge and subsequent demonstrations helped spur passage of the 1965 Civil Rights Act by Congress that was signed by President Lyndon Johnson.

With the new cruciform, cables and fine tuning I had to take a nice long ride off into the sunset.

I love my scooter! 1971 GTR with a 1979 P200E engine I put in. It's soo nice to have a 37 year old scoot that rides better that the day it was born. It is beaten and battered and if it could speak I wonder about the stories it could tell.

It was purchased in Italy where it was shipped to the US some years back. I traded a 1963 SS Nova convertible plus some cash for it. It's my bitch, my love, my teacher and all that represents me. Till death do us part.

Restoration of this scoot you might ask??? Nah. I'll replace some small parts here and there but I appreciate her for what she is!

Three trains run each way on the Northern section of the Cumbrian Coast line on a Sunday. Not much on the roads either! Workington's railway station is the second one to occupy the site. The first one was built at the opening of the original line and replaced by the LNWR who took over the Furness Junction and Workington & Cockermouth lines in 1866. The station in its present form was first known as Workington LNWR and at the grouping it was renamed Workington Main. Since the end of steam the station has simply been referred to as 'Workington' railway station.

The building itself was built with yellow Crewe bricks There was also a twelve road engine shed, wagon repair shops, a coaling stage, a goods shed and a stable block, all built with local sandstone. It goes without saying that all this is no more, although the engine shed was recently dismantled and transported to the Great Central Railway at Loughborough where it will be re-erected.

I took quite a few pictures during a session yesterday. The best part of the music he was playing. It's quite an experience making pictures while listening to real music.

Put these together from pictures taken at Yosemite. Using it for a post on overcoming passivity.
