This began its existence as a photo of a parked car with trees behind it.

I can't think how many images I've seen of the Arc de Triomphe by others famous and not. I decided to create something no one else has - an Arc with the milky way. I actually sought out the spot where Serge Ramelli took one of his and by chance caught a crescent moon in the middle. What you will never see is the milky way behind this arc. With all the light pollution of a major city stars are hard to find at all let alone this many. I used a star field provided by Serge so part of this I owe to him.

I hope you like it too.

I knew this shot was impossible before even starting. With a strong wind blowing the plants around, fading light, and deep shadows, it was quite impossible. But then the guy with the dog appeared at the lighthouse and I had to give it a try.

Part of The Impossible Railroad, this small trestle is located in a section where The Carrizo Gorge is not as deep.

The diminutive Scarlet Percher (Diplacodes haematodes). The female is golden and the male bright red. They like standing on the warm shed roof, late in the afternoon. (and yes, I climbed on the step ladder to reach it :) !) /

Got an email from Panos with updates to a few of the Actions I have gotten from him.. This one he has fixed so you can put something different on each of the faces of the cube.. I like it... He is doing alright but said they were restricted pretty much as we are with this virus...

Our lives are full of decisions that lead us down such paths. Paths where it is impossible to predict where they will lead us.

Of course, we usually have a wish as to where we would like to end up. And we usually have a fear in our luggage. The fear that the path will lead us to a place we cannot handle.

Both are completely normal. Because where knowledge is lacking, imagination sets in. It's always been that way. And so it's completely okay if we're afraid of the unknown. This fear is a protective mechanism that increases our awareness and ensures that we pay attention to where we place our feet. Something that makes us slow down but minimizes the risk of accidents.

So when you find yourself on the path into the unknown, not only accept your wishes and visions, but also your fears.

In the end we always get somewhere. And in my experience, it's rarely the place we want and never the place we're most afraid of. So take the first step and let yourself be surprised.

I'm still trying to take a good photo of the three together, a real challenge

I like these sudden changes in the weather. The air pressure drops, the energy is clearly felt , a waiting for what seems to come.

Europese zeearend - adolescent White-tailed Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla).

Getting close to an eagle perched somewhere is almost impossible. Distance about 120 m.

They say that bumblebees can't fly... and yet they do, defying physics and the laws of nature... 😆 and I think they can fly because they, the bumblebees, they are nature's lazy bugs... 😅 watch a flying bumblebee and it looks like it's almost asleep when it flies, as if hanging by its wings completely unreal in the air, crooked and limp... 😄 and it's the totally relaxed attitude paired with a dreamlike autopilot that makes the impossible possible ...

... is there something we can perhaps learn from ???

Daily Dog Challenge: Mission Impossible ... at least hopefully, now ... last time Brian visited, he & Etta got out this gate and into the bigger yard. Then they couldn't get back so they did a lot of barking while we were out ... caused some trouble with a neighbour! We've added the old dog collar so even if they push the latch open the gate won't swing far enough for even Brian to squeeze out.

This photo is all about exposure – timing was critical to capture the two sailing ships between the piers ( a combination of luck and visually seeing what I wanted). Next to get the smooth water on a day when the water was choppy, meant a long 30 second exposure. If it was all one photo – the sailing ships would be a blur if anything.

This is two separate shots, one for the sailing ships and one for the water and rest of the scene.
