The Imp Club stand at the Malvern classic car show, 1993. I used to like the fact you could sleep over at this event (usually the last event of the year)
Tucked away at the end of the cathedral, and hidden amongst carved foliage is the infamous Lincoln Imp. Legend has it that a Devil flew around the cathedral making mischief and the only way the angels could stop him was to turn him to stone.
Our latest project at work is the restoration of this little beauty in time for the 50 years celebration this summer
When the Halloween night comes and you go to sleep, little pranksters get out of their shelters to play the games on your working table.
If you are the cook, they will find your favorite pots and knives, all the products they can take out and then will make some SPECIAL meals for you. Even the hungriest person in the world will not be able to eat it, but you'll be a lucky one if you can clean your dishes and cookstove after they have played here on your kitchen.
If you are the dressmaker, you'd better be careful stepping into your workroom in the morning - all the needles and pins you have could be on the floor. Hope you have no curtains in here otherwise you’ll find a loooot of holes, imps love to play with fabric and sew some kind of cloths for themselves. Maybe they'll make a cloth for you... from EVERYTHING they can find here including your grandma's carpet or your lovely house-shoe.
If you are the painter... oh Gosh, it's better not to leave anything open at all! Or you'll find your room rather different than it was before. Paint is so slippery, so nice to the feel and so funny thing to play with, you know... All your house could be in new kind of rock-paintings, made with their tiny dexterous fingers.
But nowadays too less of people believe in wonders, monsters and fairy creatures, their power is fading away and you can not worry of their pranks anymore. Imps are not evil by their nature, they just do not know what is bad or good. These creatures have curious nimble minds and go crazy only if they are in group. If one imp comes to you at night he won't do a lot of harm (it is so sad if you try to have fun in loneliness). So don't be in a haste to banish him immediately. Teach him some manners and get an exotic friend.
P.S. The funny fact: this doll was finished in the evening of October 31th =)
