I am a very serious person...
...99.9% of the time.
I despise chickens and all chicken-related things (books, humor, art, etc.). Even the sight or mention of a chicken makes me groan inside. Then why in the world would I choose to build this?
Occasionally, when my mind is tired, not knowing what to think or even why to think, I fall into absurdity. In short, I cave. My seriousness leaves, and in its place stands incoherent gibberish. I embrace what I don't like, even if that means chickens.
So in a way, this creation represents the utter nonsense that can spout forth from a brain that really is not thinking clearly.
Speaking of that, Chicken Little is a story about some foolish young fowl who has a piece of something fall on its head (it may be an acorn, or a leaf, or a raindrop; who knows?). It goes berserk and insists that "The sky is falling!!". Thenceforth Chicken Little makes a huge fuss over it and gathers fellow animals to go warn the ruler of the area. The group meets a sly fox (what other kind of fox would there be?), who convinces the gullible animals that the way to the ruler goes right through the fox's lair. They enter the lair and the fox eats them all. (Or, if you like the other versions better, they escape and warn the ruler, but still turn out to be incorrect about the sky.)
So I think that that image of hysteria is what I've captured in this obnoxious little build. Whenever I feel like blurting out whatever my immediate reaction to my circumstances is, this chicken can remind me to always think before I speak, lest I believe the world will end and thereby fulfill my own prophecy through my own ignorance.
Don't worry, I promise that the next creations I submit will be serious in nature. This one is not a new precedent for me.
This chicken is a bauble-head; it has a technic axle as its neck that would need to be flexible if this were to become a set so that the head could wobble. The wings and tail can flap.
And yes, that is a canoe.

By 1816 Betts and his immediate family were experiencing serious financial difficulties and while it is not known when or where he died, property originally owned by him was certainly for sale by 1825 when the area’s second citizen of note arrived from Scotland by way of Blackville. Robert Doak (b. April 4, 1785) had been born in Ochiltree, Ayshire, the son of Agnes (Duncan) and Robert Doak, Senior. In 1808, he married Jane Kirkland and in 1815 when he was only 30, he and his family arrived on the Miramichi where he worked for several years as an innkeeper. In 1818, however, his elder brother James and his family joined Robert on the Miramichi. The brothers formed a partnership with Alexander MacLaggan who was operating a sawmill in Blackville. In the early 1820s, while continuing their partnership with MacLaggan, the Doak brothers moved twenty miles up river where their father, Robert Doak, Senior, had recently settled. Here in what was to become known as “Doaktown,” they acquired a considerable amount of property (some of it from the family of Ephraim Betts) and established water-powered carding and grist mills, a sawmill, an oat mill, and an extensive farming operation.
Robert Doak, rather than his elder brother James, became the settlement’s leading citizen, serving not only as the community’s largest employer but also as a School Trustee, Town Clerk, Clerk of the Market and Justice of the Peace. Such was his prominence that he became known far and wide as “Squire” Doak.
Our immediate family is spread out over some pretty significant distances in Canada and the United States and so each year we make an effort to hold a family get together. This year we hosted in Cambridge. We had a wonderful three days catching up, comparing notes, playing some golf, going out on a couple of hikes, and enjoying some home cooked meals and in this case, a morning breakfast at a restaurant before everyone got into their cars to begin their trips back home. The happiest part by far is just spending time with my family.
The Bad Batch premiere met all expectations!! The character dynamics and new world building in the immediate aftermath of ROTS was all so good. Dee Bradley Baker is doing great work here. Also, Omega is an unexpectedly fantastic new original character 👏👏
I cannot wait to see where the series goes and where this story takes the squad. The first year after the installment of the Empire is ripe with so much potential it’s insane.
There has been something really surreal about designing the last LEGO Clone Wars series finale recreations, working on a custom LEGO *live action* Ahsoka Tano, AND THE BAD BATCH premiering all in the same day. All things I NEVER would have thought possible a few years ago 😌
One last note, I made sure to swap out all of the knockoff weapons here for their respective versions from the actual vendors. Really wish the knockoff makers would design their own
Great figures otherwise. Best bootleg minifigs I own. Just need an Echo & Omega now 🤔

My older flickr friends know HOW my Nature-Lover self just adores the Belgian Autumn !!
Because , when I start strolling within my beloved Château de La Hulpe wonderland, especially in Autumn, I feel this immediate upliftment!! I feel this magical oxygen, not only filling my heart and my brain, but also my soul and my spirit!!! I am surrounded by a Paradise site, where humans and animals are SO happy!! Smiling humans of all ages, happy and healthy doggies and all sort of birds!!
You can clearly see the expression of this upliftment of mine on my Autumn captures , now and in the past!! This time I present you some lucky beautiful ducks, creating colourful paintings amidst their multicoloured natural habitat within the exuberant Belgian Autumn!!!
Torre Telefonica Diagonal ZeroZero
The position of Diagonal ZeroZero Tower is exceptional: it is located at the origin of Diagonal, Barcelona's main avenue; it is very visible from the city and from the coast; and it lays on the border between the consolidated city and the large expanses of public space in the Forum area. Its immediate surroundings consist of isolated buildings in a diverse context of different scales and uses that generate at the same time a metropolitan center and a local neighborhood still in formation.
The facade is a modular curtain wall made of white aluminum profiles and extratransparent glass with white ceramic paint serigraphy, according to a vertical pattern that reinforces the slenderness of the building.

This picture has been screaming from within my head and with tea and toast it is done. Seville Oranges in Scottish Marmalade have answer the intrusive inspiration with this completion. Obviously another idea is now demanding immediate attention. These are my good times and the others are not at all goodly. Nature never lets us down if we can wait for the good times to come along and are then ready to enjoy them when they do come along.
There is what I am describing as a Templar Bread and Butter Pudding in the oven with a crunchy Croix Pattée in place and potential for either a Spiral of Sanctity [Power Crunch], or Labyrinth of Locating to be added upon the Final Firing. Please note my liberal idea of Templar peace keepers might not be your notions of them. Hopefully the next so far unanswered idea that is starting now to shout a little will be answered through the protection of Αιξ / Aix / Aex the Very New World Fruity and Old World Spicy Bread and Butter Pudding maybe a glory to behold.
The Pentland Hills are magnificent and here is a share of their beauty.
The Very New World Fruity and Old World Spicy Templar Bread and Butter Pudding shielded and nurtured via Αιξ / Aix / Aex is Glutten Free, Butter Free and free of other things and also free if you can get to Penicuik before I finish it. I have demolished a corner with Goat Yoghurt as a part of the rearing and trading that the Templar economy engendered. I could be thinking of Shaman in Mail and Plate instead of Colonising Thugs that some see.

2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Iggesund Paperboard Ltd. produce high quality card at their Siddick works in Cumbria and in the 20th century received some of its raw materials and despatched some products by rail freight, using the Port of Workington as a rail/road transfer facility. The wood pulp and timber traffic was lost to rail but the tanks carrying clay and chalk slurries continued into the 21st century.
Over the years many different design of bogie tanks were used on this traffic; parallel cylindrical barrels, double depressed tanks, tapered depressed barrels and like these here, cylindrical depressed barrels. immediate calm
I am alone without loneliness, short shorts and short sleeves and tripod in hand, hopping fences.
I shouldn't be here but I hear the breathing of the forest and imagine that if anyone came after me, I'd hear them first
atune but ignoring it all.
Here is the meadow, and I taste the summer beneath my skin. The daisy lolls from the left side of my mouth. It is a little bitter and a little sweet, a little summer with the earth of the dormant seasons sleeping in its roots.
For once, I leave my camera and I just lie back. This isn't just about taking photos, but the peace and intimacy of just feeling quiet, of noticing beauty and the little purple flowers in the ground besides me. This is about how happy this moment makes me, and this, I remember, is why I explore.
kalanchoe blossfeldiana - also called Florist Kalanchoe.
I ordered a bag of plants from WholeFoods with a recent food curbside delivery. This is what I got! I planned to use this flowering plant outside, now I think I am fine with keeping it inside. I think I will order seeds for outside!
We've ended up with the 1st week of this year's summer holiday in the Durham Dales at Middleton-in-Teesdale pretty much by chance. Covid19 & lockdown made chaos of any other plans - just the same as for everyone else.
It's turned out totally brilliant! A very peaceful village in the terrific, wild landscape of the Northern Pennines: sweeping upland moors, great rivers and watercourses. Strange placenames & geographical features abound.
Imagine my excitement when even the most cursory research before our trip revealed about 10 disused mines within the immediate vicinity of the village. After dinner one evening, armed with the vaguest knowledge of where one was, I wandered off into the twilight to go take a look. Twenty minutes on foot from the house I stumbled upon this adit pretty much by chance. It doesn't seem to be any of the ones mentioned on the net and is not marked on the old maps. A small stream flows out the entrance and the first 50m are bricklined. After that the adit is tunnelled through the rock with great swathes of white crystals growing across the walls and small, white stalactites ('ceiling straws') sprouting from the roof. I abandoned progress about 100m in simply not in the mood for further adventure but the tunnel continued. An adventure for another day...
The image is acheived by an in-camera double-exposure: one exposure to light paint the foreground tunnel and the 2nd exposure to let me pop further into the tunnel and light paint that.
PRESS RELEASE
16 APRIL 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Impossible releases new PX 600 film for Polaroid 600 cameras
Enschede, The Netherlands, April 16, 2010. Just four weeks ago, The Impossible Project announced the successful outcome of its mission to re-produce a new instant film for traditional Polaroid cameras and presented the PX 100 Silver Shade film for Polaroid SX70 cameras.
Today Impossible is already releasing its next new film material: the PX 600 Silver Shade.
"This is another major step into the bright future of analog Instant Photography“, says the founder of The Impossible Project, Florian Kaps. The PX 600 is a high definition integral film featuring beautifully detailed monochrome characteristics. It is astonishingly precise and sharp, and exactly what millions of hungry Polaroid 600 cameras worldwide are waiting for.
While the previously released PX 100 Silver Shade may be considered to be more of an artistic material for the professional user, the new PX 600 Silver Shade film prooves to be a much more convenient product for everyday use. "The new masterpiece of the Impossible labs in Enschede is a highly astonishing material that will zoom all the lovers of Polaroid cameras back into the good old days when every single shot was a wonderful exciting instant adventure", Kaps describes the potential of the new monochrome material.
The PX 600 Silver Shade film will be available on www.the-impossible-project.com as well as at selected retail partners. Launch events will be held on April 22 at Chandal in Barcelona, on April 24 at The Photographers' Gallery in London and on April 30 in the SofortBildShop Berlin. April 30 will also mark the opening day of The Impossible Project's Space in New York City.
Beyond that the Impossible team of the factory in Enschede has more good news: development of the color material is making great progress and the first color film material with 100 ASA will presumably be released in June 2010.

Schabowski (1.

Mr. Schabowski (1st Secretary of the SED district administration Berlin), informs the astonished journalists that from now on Western travel is possible for everyone. Many GDR citizens see the message on television. The regulation was originally intended as a guideline for the permanent departure to the Federal Republic of Germany (without right of return). It was supposed to stop the ongoing outflow through Czechoslovakia.
"And that's why we decided today to come up with a ruling that would make it possible for every citizen of the GDR to travel through border crossing points in the GDR. ... So, private trips to foreign countries can be applied for without conditions, travel arrangements and kinship Permits will be issued at short notice ... This occurs to my knowledge, uh, that is immediate, promptly. "

Alle die diesen Tag erlebt haben, werden ihn nie vergessen
Everyone who has experienced this day will never forget it
During high school, my friends and I would pile in the car (I had a 1981 Chevy Citation that I bought for $600) and head to the coal region. It was less than an hour away and it was just something different to do.
Shamokin was in the heart of it, but usually we'd just pass through on the way to Centrailia or the mall in Frackville - there was a kiosk that sold various bootlegs (I still have a Syd Barrett boot I bought there in 1993).
My plan was to revisit as many places as I could. Centrailia is mostly gone now and the mall was bulldozed years ago, so I wasn't sure that I would find. However, I explored Shamokin for hours and hours, discovering something I had never expected.
What I saw in Shamokin, however, was something that is incredibly rare: a practical and functional downtown with almost all of the necessities of life right there.
Shamokin is one of the most walkable towns I've ever seen. And I wasn't expecting that.
While Pennsylvania Route 61 winds its way along Sunbury Street, Just to the south by a block is Independence Street with Market Street running south, crossing the creek as a boulevard and continuing to the end of town.
Along each and often their side streets are businesses (with houses surrounding them).
At the west end of Independence is a grocery store. Many towns will have a small grocer or convenience store, but this is a full size local chain.
There are multiple banks and credit unions, the post office, restaurants from fast food to pizza shops, Mexican and Chinese food. There's two laundromats, a clinic and hospital at the west end of Independence, various doctors and dentist offices on the main street.
There are mechanics, tire shops, auto parts stores, various barber shops, taverns and bar, and the library, all in the immediate downtown. The town has various parks and even a swimming pool.
Shamokin isn't really a utopia, of course. But as far as walkability to life's essentials, it's pretty perfect.

Immediate attention when I mentioned his name or called ... not like another hooligan called Smudge :)
My immediate thought was to imagine the inner sanctum of a black hole in deep space. I love the collage of dark colors, lines and shapes seeming to flow with lots of energy. Imagination is wonderful thing to enliven our thoughts, lives and creativity. . .
Immediate question/thought when people find out you're a chef is how amazingly you must eat all the time at home....this is the truth of the matter! We eat whatever we can find generally that is quick and the least possible effort!

Bevin Court is one of several modernist housing projects in London designed in the immediate post-war period by the Tecton architecture practice, led by Berthold Lubetkin. Following the dissolution of Tecton, the project was realised by Lubetkin, Francis Skinner and Douglas Carr Bailey. The project was completed in 1954.
Location
Exterior and main entrance to Bevin Court
Located in Cruikshank Street, London WC1, the scheme is built on the site of the bomb-destroyed Holford Square in Finsbury. It incorporates the main building of Bevin Court, plus the smaller Holford House (which echoes the form of its larger neighbour) and Amwell House (itself of interest as a modernist interpretation of the bay-fronted Victorian terrace). The group of buildings as a whole reflects Lubetkin's respect for the pre-existing urban environment, a characteristic that makes his work stand out from that of many modernist architects of his generation.
Post war austerity had imposed far greater budgetary constraints than in Tecton's housing showpiece Spa Green Estate, forcing Lubetkin to strip the project of the basic amenities he had planned; there were to be no balconies, community centre or nursery school. Instead Lubetkin focused his energies on the social space. Fusing his aesthetic and political concerns he created a stunning constructivist staircase — a social condenser that forms the heart of the building.
The building occupies the site of the 1902–03 home of Lenin, which he occupied while in exile editing the Russian socialist newspaper Iskra (Spark). In honour of the Soviet leader, the building was initially planned to be named "Lenin Court". In addition the building was to incorporate Lubetkin's memorial to Lenin, which had been located on the site of Holford Square since 1942. However British fascists repeatedly vandalised the memorial, to the extent that it required a 24-hour police guard. The end of World War II marked the end of the brief thaw in Anglo-Russian relations and Finsbury Council lost their enthusiasm for both the memorial and the proposed name for the building. When it became clear that the Borough were no longer willing to keep the memorial on site Lubetkin buried its remains under the central core of the staircase. The proposed site of the monument (to the right of the main entrance) and a viewing aperture designed to allow the building's porter to oversee its wellbeing exist to this day. Before the building was completed the Cold War had intensified and as a result the scheme was renamed Bevin Court (honouring Britain's firmly anti-communist foreign secretary Ernest Bevin). On 28 September 2013, Bevin Court became the first council residential building to unveil a commemorative plaque, dedicated to the artist Cyril Mann who lived and worked there between 1956 and 1964.
"Last week I got first! HOLLLAAAA'!!! Amen! Honestly about time because I have seriously been robbed of the past two themes top photos. Anyhoo, this week I'm determind to get top photo again this week and scare these other lanky hoes in the competition that I am a threat and a serious competitor in this thing. For this weeks shoot, we had to pick a photoshoot to re-incorporate from the past 9 previous cycles of BNDM. I decided to choose 'Nationalities' as I had an idea of wanted I wanted to do for this shoot straight away! I chose the country of South Africa and I styled myself to look like a traditional African woman - headress and everything! I'm hoping I did well this week, what with all the drama that's been going on in the house these girls need a serious reality check."
(Please don't be offended by what Camden just said. It is simply to show her fiery and bitchy persona)
I really enjoyed making Camden's outfit for this theme and I had an immediate idea as to what I wanted to do for this shoot. Because its Winter, I had a hard time trying to get a decent shot of Camden with the sun but I managed to snap this shot quickly before it went in earlier today.
I hope you like it! :)
CALLED: 02/13
Pittosporum Leaf.
The immediate problem with the Macro Mondays Speckled theme this week was that I had already eaten all the chocolate eggs (suitably speckled) at Christmas. That was probably wise seeing at the house was filled with chocolate gannets at the time, but it did leave me with problem as to what to do for the theme.
Things got worse. All the bean seeds in the garden shed turned out not to be speckled!
But there was an upside to this disappointing discovery - I was already outside during a brief lull in the rain, and so was encouraged to wander around looking for inspiration.
This is a leaf from the Pittosporum bush by the front gate. Pittosporums are lovely plants with small characterful leaves and fine dark branches. The leaves can be shiny, crinkly or variegated depending on the variety. This is a non-shiny, non-crinkly, variegated type.
The leaf is 3.5 centimetres long though the bush is bigger than I am - think six foot six (who are you kidding?? :) ). Interestingly as I tried to wrest a sample off I also discovered that the twiggy branches are tough and aromatic when damaged.
The reason this plant was interesting is that, when the leaves are damaged, the damaged parts turn purple. In winter when the leaves are growing slowly they are often covered in purple spots, as is this one.
This image was taken using my cheap and cheerful LED lightbox to capture the leaf veins. Ironically the transmitted light caused most of the spots to disappear (they must be largely on the surface and transparent). Ah well… it's still an interesting image.
The title comes from memories of teenage angst in winter when, just like this leaf's spots, the acne was always worst (not mine obviously ;) ).
Also for 7DWF group's Macro & Close-up themed Wednesday.
Thank you for taking time to look. I do hope you enjoy the image. Happy Macro Monday to all my friends and to everyone else too. :)
[LED lightbox; tripod; remote release; manual focus; VR off.
Lightroom: bumped contrast, vibrancy, clarity and saturation. In the colour channels saturated green, red and magenta.
In Affinity Photo clarity filter and High Pass layer with Linear Light blend mode for sharpening (better results than Unsharp Mask); slight dark vignette tailored for shape.
I tried lots of ideas and approaches but simple proved once again to be better. Still experimentation was fun and educational :) ]
Cypress and other old trees by the shore of Lake Maitland. The Cypress trees are especially interesting because they can grow to 60 ft in height and may live as long as 1000 years or more. I feel very small and awed when I walk among them.

Tide mill.
The building on the immediate right is the tide mill and according to the records a tide mill has been situated on this site since 1170.
For about 350 years it was owned and operated by the Augustinian Priors who were (and still are) a religious order of Catholic friars who live in community and are inspired by Saint Augustine who taught to value community life over seeking for oneself.
Henry VIII confiscated the mill and it remained in ownership of the Crown for the next 28 years.
It was during the reign of Elizabeth I that it was sold by royal decree and it was purchased by Thomas Seckford where it remained in the family in excess of 100 years.
During the interim years several private owners operated the mill.
In 1957 the last commercially tide mill still in operation in England was closed.
Saved from an uncertain future in 1968 the mill was restored and opened to the public in 1973.
Today the mill in one of two tide mills in operation in the UK which produces stoneground wholemeal flour.
