.With the summer upon us my 3 year old daughter and I have been doing a lot of exploring lately. Her imagination and interest in the world around her is so amazing to watch. Every trail is like a whole new world to her. She points out each flower and is excited about all the different colors, the shapes of the leaves and the insects. Its a great reminder for me on how important even the smallest forms of life are to our planet. How even the smallest insect to the largest trees depend on each other and how they make up this wonderful world. Because of her I wanted to capture an image that represented just that. Lily loves these little flowers and yesterday she was so excited looking at all the slugs on the trail... so after taking this shot and noticing this tiny slug in the image I couldn't have been happier. Can you spot him?..oh and can you see the fly as well?..it's so important for our youth to explore the world and understand all that they can about it...so get out there and explore.

i used to have one.
with the snow keeping ruining my plans for the evening i decided to do a little "spring cleaning" upon which i found my old art supply box from college. once upon a time i was taking classes for graphic design. inside i found a small box filled with a bunch of paper scraps. i almost dumped the whole box in the trash and then i started to wonder why i would save a bunch of magazine clippings. so, i scattered them across my desk and found a box full of quotes and random words. at one point in my life i must have been, or thought i was, more creative. i apparantly had plans for those scraps.
going through the box makes me want to go back to school and finish my art degree. i used to have big dreams, i was going to work for pixar. of course i was 13 and had just seen toy story for the first time. it's funny how things end up - i start in art school with dreams of something "cool" and i end up pushing papers as a corporate monkey with a slightly modified nine to five.
i'm posting this picture and story as a reminder to myself to think about going back to school. somewhere in me there must be some imagination and creativity left...
and i'm keeping the box full of words.

This was taken at the start of blue hour in Epcot at the Imagination Pavilion. I've always loved that stretch of time in the parks where the evening is taking hold and the lights are just starting to come on. I took extra care to process this without making the HDR look "fake". Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!
