Week 4: Image Transfer
The left part of this journal (the words) is a page out of a book that I used for an image transfer. I left some of the back page, and didn't transfer all of the words below so it's confusing, you can read some places and can't read others.

For Flickr Artist Trading Cards group "Image Transfer" swap. There is patterned tissue paper layered underneath the packing tape transfer. This has tons of layers -- metallic origami paper, vellum, part of a colored envelope and some acrylic stickers.
I transferred an illustration of a monster I made in Adobe Ideas for iPad on a board by printing it out in B&W from a lazer print, painting it with acrylic gel medium and sticking it face down on the board. After several hours I wetted the paper, which came off leaving the image in gel behind on the board. Most of the paper comes off without damaging the image, but some did.
I did quite a few party pictures as transfers. This one is from a trip to japan where my friend and I met an old friend who happened to be living there at the time

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome
