Triple image transfer onto Pearl Premo clay layered on a Black Premo base. I just love these. The bottom image is butterflies, the middle one magenta and gold shells, the top a vintage book illustration (in the public domain and not copyrighted) pink-lipped shell. I added a thin layer of liquid Kato clay to the top, baked, sanded and buffed. I'm not sure this one will end up as a pendant or a brooch yet.

For Flickr Artist Trading Card group "Image Transfer" swap. This is a packing tape transfer using Elizabeth Taylor's image. The "Love" is actually a separate image transfer -- I layered that word with Liz's face. The butterfly wings came from a vellum greeting card envelope -- terrific salvage, eh?

That little heart is torn paper from scraps, and there are layers of white vellum on this one, too.

This piece from Linda is even better in person - Thank you!

This is a nicho altar with images from Gothic Stained Glass Windows which have been transferred onto polymer clay with Lynda Moseley's image transfer technique.

The sides have images of King David, and the front is an image that I reversed the colors on to get the nice turquoise hues.

This is my entry into the PCAGOE September challenge. Thank you to Piddix on Etsy for your digital collage sheets!

Last week I took "Polaroid Transfers" by Kathleen Thormod Car out of the library. I found two polaroid photos I I took during the summer but never really liked very much and decided to experiment a little with image transfer.

The process is very simple. Heat water to 160F and heat print for about 3 minutes until the emulsion starts to bubble. Put the print in cool water and gently remove the emulsion from the paper. When removed place the emulsion on another piece of paper. I used watercolor paper. I tore the first one and did my best to arrange it on the paper. The second came out better. It's really interesting how you can remove the photograph from the paper but it's very fragile.
