Took a little inspiration from both Ben Heine's Pencil vs Camera series and George Mackay's Eejits creatures and created something called Mutiny on the Desktop: Cartoons vs Toys. My first attempt.
Background photo take with an Apple iPhone. Characters drawn in Adobe Illustrator, transferred and colored in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Bamboo tablet. Final process in Photoshop.

I decided to continue working on the basic image uploaded before this one (see it here: www.flickr.com/photos/wwwayneup/115191595/in/photostream/ ).
I keep getting caught up in the industrial, yet futuristic, nature of the original 'seed' image ,,uploaded by EOS1954
www.flickr.com/photos/55096959@N00/113594241/
for the WET Challenge Thread :
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/discuss/720575940837...
of the Amazing Circles Group:
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/
The initial 'craft' was made using a 'circle' of the base layer, which was, itself, created using three sections of the seed image, combined with another image.
This one wound up with 35 layers, before it was done.. adding another element from the First seed for the Challenges,
www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/discuss/166266/ ,
as well as layers just for the 'down lights' , etc under and within the 'craft'.
The craft occured to me because I usually 'circle' the rectangular image, instead of cropping to a square, first..
then, when I want a round circle, I scale it to a square.
In this case, the oblong Totally suggested a vehicle.
With This version, I decided it looked a Lot more like a Taxi Stand than a police/military fleet, or a Limo service...
Again.. more Could be done, but at this point I'M done. Since I couldn't replace my entry, I'm just going to use my third entry spot for this update.
Treatment:
HDR made from 3 exposures (handheld)
I added that lens flare to kindof cover up for the very strong halo.
Around the flare I added an omni light effect (approx. 30% opacity)
Some sharpening up and stuff...
Using Gimp, I started with new image filled with a pattern, shaped it into a sphere, distorted top of sphere to give egg shape, added shadow and gradient background.

Playing with long exposure....At least I think thats what I was doing. I found this one in the hundred or so I took, I thought I needed a cross lens to make those twinkles. Go Me. Hope I can do it again one day. lol
Comparised
I found this photoshop tutorial by example on how to create an inner glow effect on people. My result turned with a skin a bit too gray, bit indeed looks like glowing.
Posted the original photo too, just as comparison.

Comparada

As with most of my abstracts, this started life as an original digital capture (mine), then received a good dose of PS and finally was printed on canvas
I didnt have anything to post so I stole some! Cheers.
Oh and Update on the Topsy turvy thing. I have small maters and I am having to give it about a gallon of water a day. It dries out fast.
1. Brandy, 2. tea cup, 3. Someone said, drink the water, but I will drink the wine. (171/365), 4. The Southern Boy's answer to a long, hard day...and, yes, of course it's sweet!
