In Spain. Specially on the mediterranean coast, summer is the season of the "Coffe on the rocks". An ordinary espresso poured over an Ice cube. Simply wonderful and a sign of summer and beach.

Taken with my 50D using the intervalometer feature of the Canon software while my camera was connected via USB. I made the movie from the stills using VideoMach.
This is just a proof of concept.
The exposure varies a lot because the level of sunlight shining through my blinds varied. I wasn't expecting this.
Most of the movie was made from one photo every 5 seconds, but in the beginning I varied it a bit from 5 to 10 to 10 then back to 5, trying to find the right speed. The final movie is 15 frames per second. It might have been better at 24. It's a little slow at 15 fps. Even I don't want to watch it that long. :)
Biped, Keppet and I were a little exhausted by all this social interaction and show-watching, and after walking the Aberdonians to the bus station we collapsed into a nearby restaurant. We were not up to conversation but did manage to concentrate on watching ice melt instead.
Take your everyday icecube tray, fill it up with water mixed with foodcoloring, attach your macro lens to your body, get as close as you can, add more foodcoloring, and klabang, done. Have fun!

When I was a kid and we went out to eat, I was only allowed to have 1 soda with my meal. So I figured out that if I got the soda with no ice, I would get more soda. I conditioned myself to getting drinks with no ice for so long, now I can't stand it when i have a drink with ice in it and I'll even send my drink back if I end up with ice in it at a restaurant. So this ties in to my first challenge picture. I want Sprite, but NO ICE!!!
