For the MM theme of “in ice”, I have 16 subjects all told and a couple with a two orientations. Just told a bud that there will be major dithering in the next few hours!! I’ll try to leave a link to the album somewhere close by when I get the possibilities narrowed down a bit!

Antarctic Trip Nov 29 - Dec 3 2010.

From U.S. Ambassador Huebner's Blog:

At the South Pole.

It just keeps getting better down here. Early this morning we suited up in our extreme-cold survival gear, followed our friend Dr. Lisa Clough of the National Science Foundation down to the ice airstrip, boarded an LC-130 Hercules, and flew 3 hours inland to the South Pole. For decades the Hercules fleet has been the dependable backbone of the U.S. Antarctic Program, and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the flight deck of the old workhorse with the pilot and co-pilot as we soared into the Antarctic interior.

Do you know how long we've been trying to find this goddamn movie on REGULAR DVD? NOT BLU-RAY? DO YOU?

Well Target finally had it for $5.

First attempt at a timelapse, just under 700 photos taken every 10 seconds over an hour and a half.

As a new photographer on Flickr, I'd much appreciate any feedback and advice, thank you :)

I was very puzzled as to how this was happening to my ice cubes. It just didn't seem possible. But then I read this explanation.

Why do ice cubes grow spikes?

The short explanation is this: as the ice freezes fast under supercooled conditions, the surface can get covered except for a small hole. Water expands when it freezes. As freezing continues, the expanding ice under the surface forces the remaining water up through the hole and it freezes around the edge forming a hollow spike. Eventually, the whole thing freezes and the spike is left.

How amazing is that!

Part 8 of my 2 week "Girl Talk - Feed The Animals" series.

Inspired by the french duo that changed the face of dance music: Daft Punk. Their track face to face is used underneath Ice Cube's Amerikkka's Most Wanted near the end of this track, and it's one of the catchiest hooks on the entire cd.

Yesterday was pretty much another 13 hour slugfest at the dealership, but I sold 2 and hope that I can do the same thing today. Both of my deals were easy, but coming home at 10:15 at night sucks. I'm looking forward to being off tomorrow and spending a nice lazy day with Liina doing whatever the fuck we like :)

So ummmmm, yeah, sorry I haven't been around much, but work is work and life is life, and that's all I've got to say about that.

Today's Random Fact: I have no fucking clue why I'm making this ridiculously silly facial expression...

underside of the mould, the circular protusions keep the flexible tray flat. After taking this photo I filled the tray with water to make my first batch of icecubes - they will be big - only 1 per glass will be needed!
