Besides, a video on the lives of Migrant Domestic Workers in Lebanon is was launched at the Migrant Community Center in Beirut.
The video is called "Mekdas: When Will I Look Back at Now". It was directed and produced by Firas El Hallak.

HTS of Uganda celebrate International domestic workers Day – 2020 March 8

Uganda domestic workers participated in the women's day activities which run for 3 days from 6-8 March 2020 at Hotel Africana.
The activity was an exhibition under the theme: "An exhibition of women's foils and triumphs in the Workplace" the activities were intended to create awareness on the ratification of C190 Violence and Harassment in the World of Work.
On the 6 March it started with a workshop which was graced by the UN Women Resident Coordinator Ms. Rosa Malango who was the guest of honor. She pledged to meet with the president over the ratification of C190, C189, and the Minimum wage.
I was also privileged to be one of the panelist to discuss Women's human Rights in the World of Work. I was tasked to discuss;
i) the forms of violence and harassment that women in our sectors face.
ii) How wage is connected to violence and harassment in the World of Work.
iii) What practices is the union adopting to protect women against harassment in the World of Work.
Domestic workers and returnee migrant domestic workers (10) participated in the exhibition led by Ms. Achayo Josephine the National Executive Council member (NEC).
HTS-Union exhibited the domestic workers hand books in 4 local handbooks and posters on domestic workers. The Ms. Rosa picked a copy of the handbook in English.
