The U.S. Department of State (DOS) is sponsoring an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) entitled “Let Leaders Lead - IVLP Exchange Alumni Advance Interfaith Relations,” to be administered by FHI 360. This project for 17 religious and community leaders who participated in a previous IVLP project on interfaith dialogue and religious freedom, will examine the role and impact of religion in society and explore opportunities to bridge gaps among faith groups throughout the world.

This alumni group that has been meeting for the past 10 years in different participant countries. This reunion will include a meeting on the Hill to share the impact of their IVLP programs.

IVLP PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE program, spring 2015:

As part of this program, participants got to examine best practices in arts management, including the curation of exhibits and the storage, restoration, and preservation of artifacts; explore research, innovation and technology in the field of cultural heritage preservation and management; discuss the design and management of open-air museums, including preservation methods; examine how public and private entities have effectively used cultural heritage to expand and enhance domestic and international tourism; visit diverse cultural heritage sites and museums to discuss educational programming and research. This year marks NCIV’s 50th anniversary and its half century partnership with the US Department of State. Members and volunteers from 90 community based organizations around the country spent three days sharing best practices, exchanging ideas and learning more about the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) exchanges.state.gov/ivlp one of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ Premier Exchange Programs.

 

The International Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City hosts International Visitors who travel to the United States on this program. They arrange professional meetings, cultural activities and home hospitality for visitors from around the world.

103 International Visitors from 95 countries around the world celebrate the opening of Volunteerism: United We Serve at the Meridian International Center, Washington, DC.

This alumni group that has been meeting for the past 10 years in different participant countries. This reunion will include a meeting on the Hill to share the impact of their IVLP programs.
