♪ AYREON - Day two: Isolation ♪

Me:

I can't move, I can't feel my body

I don't remember anything

What place is this…how did I get here?

I don't understand, what's happening…

Am I alone?

Fear:

You've been deserted, everyone has left you

You know it's always been that way

Those frantic years, the people you've neglected

Now the time has come to pay

You're alone

No one here is dancing to your tune

Me: Is this a dream or is it real?

Reason: Sometimes the dream becomes reality

Me: But I don't know what to feel

Reason: Then I will guide you through this haze

Me: But who are you, why are you here?

Reason: I am you and you are all of us

Me: I can't think, my mind ain't clear

Reason: Then I will free you from this maze

Passion:

Can't you feel it burn

Deep down inside?

Won't you ever learn

Don't try to hide

Can't you feel that fire

Scorching your soul?

A wounded man's desire

Out of control

Pride:

I can't believe you're giving up

That's not your way

I can't believe you'd pass the chance to make them pay

You've always had complete control

Never thinking twice

You always called the shots, a heart as cold as ice

Me: You're all delusions of my mind

Reason: And so we are, we're all a part of you

Me: Am I a part of some design?

Reason: The one design is in your head

Me: How can it be, you look so real…

Reason: We are as real as you imagine us

Me: I can touch you, I can feel…

Reason: Then take my hand and follow me

Passion: chorus 1

Pride: chorus 2

Love:

Close your eyes, listen to your heart beat

Surrender to its soothing pulse

Silence the cries, gentle and carefree

Good or bad, true or false…

You're not alone

You'll find me here whenever they oppose you

I am the strongest of them all

No need to fear these feelings that enclose you

I'm here to catch you when you fall

You're not alone

I am here, dancing to your tune

We came across this brightly coloured house by accident on our only bad weather day. Luckily we found it again on a much better day.

A cottage on the shore of Hokianga Harbour in Northland NZ. It looked like a boat trip would be the shortest way to a town or a shop. A spot of sun here but the day never cleared.

Cloudy today out my window at home. Might go looking for autumn pictures. Thanks very much for visiting.

The most difficult part, has been social isolation. I live in NJ and we have been shut down with NY and CT. It's crazy in our states, hopes that we will get to a better place soon!! We are feeling the pain of much sickness!! Prayers!!

The orange light filtering from the window is due to the dark smoky skies outside as a result of nearby wildfires. The air quality was too dangerous to be outside for extended time periods.

I am in awe of the difficult and often isolated lives of Polar Bears. Imagine hunting seals on the sea ice with no land or companionship in sight.

Day 26

Stow on the Wold - on a busy day...? Good Friday....

What a weird and terrifying year so far! After seemingly endless weeks of bad weather and one cold after the next we now face probably the worst crisis in my lifetime. I have not been very active with photography in the past weeks (mainly due to not going out much) and now that we are under lockdown there won't be many new photos - at least not landscapes!

I took this one last Sunday when we took the opportunity to finally go outdoors again to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air - I did not expect this to be the last day outdoors for the foreseeable future!

This was a lonely Hawthorne tree somewhere around Belstone tor.

Take care, stay safe and stay at home!

A simple image I captured of this man sitting out by the river. I thought it had a nice feel given the world we’re living in right now.

Working away on my book ISOlation and trying to decide on images, I feel this one has to be included. So far 147 images and 100 pages! This was supposed to be a small zine 😬 Crosby in and around those lockdown times. #ISOlation #bookmaking #lockdown #photography @UKNikon
