this photo (of one of many excellent muffins my girlfriend made today) was made with a high ISO (a system to measure by the Int. Organization for Standardization ~ ASA standard from 1987) value of 3200. the high light sensitivity (or fast film speed) leads to image noise or a grainier picture. film speed together with exposure time, aperture size and lightning are in the exposure equation.
I heard tell that the latest firmware upgrade from Nikon had some unpublished aid in high ISO noise. I have no idea if it's true or not, so used the rather horrible lighting in my apartment to try it out.
Moreover, I dug up a TC14e teleconverter that my dad left in a box and slapped that on the 70-200mm f/2.8, and had some no-light, hand-held fun.

Celebrating the holidays with festive music and holiday songs. Holiday Pops in the Heartland truly is a community affair, as the ISO is joined by the Bloomington-Normal Youth Symphony, Springfield Youth Performance Group, and the Twin Cities Ballet Company. But that's not all! The ISO will perform the music to Chris van Allsburg's Polar Express featuring Bass Baritone Robert Cantrell. Great fun for the entire family, young and old! Performed Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, Bloomington, IL. Photo by David Fitch.

JD Eicher and the Gooodnights at Standing Stone Coffee Company, which as it turns out is quite a photogenic venue. The band sounded great and it was a really good show, if you get the chance then I recommend you go. It was pretty crowded so I couldn't take all the shot I would've liked to, at least these turned out sweet I think, especially this one. The band's website is here: www.jdeicherandthegoodnights.com
