This proved to be a much harder shot to get than expected. I tried many different ways to light the egg and ended up using two head lamps that I use for night mountain biking.
Set up was interesting. I used a white shirt as the background (which in retrospect I probably should have used white paper) and had my tripod flipped up and around over the egg. I used my wired remote with a 10 second timer. I used the timer so that I could position the two lights in the perfect spots to eliminate all shadows from the egg. That was the hardest part about this shot.
Also, editing was decently extensive. I converted to black and white, upped the contrast, and played a lot with levels and a little with curves. I had to rotate the picture just a little to make sure the dimensions were spot on.
Overall, I think this simple photo has turned into one of my best shots. I like how its such a simple object yet is pretty interesting due to the lighting and 2D feel to it.
Let me know what you think about it! :)

Currently working on some internal and external compositions of a school in Newton Mairns as part of a project for a new client. Recently, school architecture seems to be moving in new directions with a wave of projects having been built across Scotland. It's good to see engaging and focused places for pupils as in this special needs school that has state of the art learning facilities and materials used throughout. The top image may look like a nice clear sky but is actually a dusk exposure of a blanket of clouds! Not always the end of the world!

Thought I'd try the extreme ISO 12,800 on the Sony A550 at 11pm at the back of my house, just to see how it came out.
