Although the A7r is considered by many to be not thà t good for high ISO shooting, I just wanted to see what was possible. Therefore I performed some experimenting at 12800 ISO.
Fortunately you need no new camera for really high ISO. You just start with an underexposed ISO 1600 RAW photo and let lightroom do the brightening and ISO expansion,.
The 350D does it almost as well as the latest crop cameras from canon, Only a full frame camera or a 1D4 with their bigger sensors would do a somewhat better job.
Processed as an ISO 100,000 image this photo is still somewhat dark. So as a next step I turned into a still somewhat acceptable ISO 409,600 B&W version.
This is about ISO 100,000. That is the maximal brightening Lightroom allows with just one processing step from an ISO 1600 exposure of my Canon 350D.
