Vista de l'església romànica de Sant Joan d'Isil, just aigues avall del poble d'Isil, al Pallars Sobirà. Del hipotetic monestir només en resta l'església romànica triabsidial. De fet, que fos originariament un monestir sembla foça dubtós. Només es segur que fou parroquia ja al s. XII.
La seva situació just sobre la Noguera Pallaresa és impressionant, amb la capçalera triabsidial banyada per les remogudes aigues del riu. No crec que enlloc pogueu veure una altra església romànica tan arran d'un riu.
Actualment forma part del cementiri d'Isil.

I don't know of any other romanesque (or any other) church built almost inside a river, and specially such a savage river. It's known that several times the apses had been rebuilt.
Now the church still serves as part of Isil village cementery.

Sardegna Isili (Città Metropolitana di Cagliari). Il Lago San Sebastiano il 12 gennaio del 2012 in un periodo non siccitoso.
Is Cangialis, situato su uno sperone roccioso ad oltre 650 m. di altitudine, è uno splendido nuraghe di probabile struttura pentalobata, ossia composto in origine da ben cinque torri, esempio piuttosto raro nel panorama degli edifici nuragici.
Nell’occasione della visita non mi è stato possibile salire in cima alla torre, e quindi le foto non rendono minimamente il fascino straordinario di questo monumento. Basti solo dire che il picco su cui si erge dòmina a 360 gradi i territori di Nurri, Isili, Villanovatulo, e già da lì si può godere di una vista spettacolare, compreso il magnifico panorama sul lago del Flumendosa.

Sardegna, Isili (CA), il felice incontro l'ho avuto lungo la strada che porta alla diga di "Is Barrocus" le pecore (brebei in Sardo Campidanese) hanno sostato alcuni minuti prima di permettermi il passaggio, ma io sono stato ben felice di aspettare e allora ho regalato loro un ritratto di famiglia.

I awakened this morning to the news that 50 of my fellow Americans had been gunned down and killed (and another 53 injured) by a lone gunman at the PULSE bar in Orlando, Florida.
The following is already know: He was a young American man of Pakistani descent, born in the City of New York and now living in a Florida town about a two hour drive away from where he drove to systematically kill as many people as he could. Several minutes into his murder spree , he called police and told them that he was pledging his allegiance to the leader of ISIS (Isil). Recently he had reportedly become enraged in his (father's presence), when he saw two men kissing one another in Miami, Florida. His wife, from whom he was divorced seven years ago, tells authorities he was violent towards her. He reportedly had one son. He has expressed sympathy for the radical muslim sector and praised former terrorists.
He went into the predominately gay club at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, apparently armed with an assault type rifle and a hand gun. He shot his way past the personnel at the door and proceeded to kill at least fifty persons and injury at least 53 other, several of whom remain in critical condition.
My thought, prayers and best wishes go out to the victims, their families, the LGBT Community of Orlando, Florida and to all who are or will be impacted by this senseless Terrorism Murder.
We stand united against such violence! We stand with all of our citizens, regardless of their race, religion, gender, national origin, or sexual persuasion. We will not be intimidated!!
