On February 14th, 1966 the DT&I Railroad began trackage rights over the B&O between DT&I Junction and "XN" just south of Leipsic, Ohio. DT&I General Order #5 laid out the operating procedures, including this new junction just north of Lima.
58 years later, the color position light shows "restricting" for a southbound I&O local returning to Ford Park Yard (which will veer off on the track to the left). In the background, one can see the undulating profile of the Toledo Subdivision and the interlocking at North Lima.

Amtrak work extra 2006 is southbound through Cedar Interlocking in North Haven, CT. The Providence & Worcester GP38-2 is on loan to Amtrak for work train service on the Springfield and Shore Lines.
An eastbound CWR train swings into F interlocking, straddling the line between the Metropolitan Sub to the west and the Washington Sub to the east. An SD70MACe rebuild and an ACe approach the 12th St. Viaduct while passing Tower 2 at Old Union Depot Interlocking as they lead BNSF train C-CAMMAH6-24W. They're on Track 82 of the KCT North-South Corridor, which becomes BN 1 around the I-670 overpass. These coal loads are bound for the Western Farmers Electric Cooperative power plant near Hugo, OK via interchange with the Kiamichi Railroad at Madill, OK.
In addition to the EMD power on the head end, another pair of EMD's were also the DPU's on the train, which were also an ACe and an SD70MAC. It's not all that common anymore to find solid EMD consists on BNSF coal trains, especially with the influx of GE "heavies" over the past year. 9/7/24.
A Canadian Pacific manifest ducks under the signal bridge at Hoffman along Dayton's Bluff in Saint Paul. The route for this train became clear after the Empire Builder departed making a direct line for Red Wing.

The crew of NS 212 honored the Memorial Day holiday by decorating their lead unit with two American flags, as seen passing through CP Bound Brook interlocking on the Lehigh Line.

Canandaigua's boathouses don't feel like they should be in Upstate NY. I felt like I was wandering Halifax or some fishing town on the Atlantic as I took my photos.
Heading towards the Incline on Track 79 on the KCT North-South Corridor at Old Union Depot Interlocking is a yard job from BNSF's Argentine Yard to KCS's Knoche Yard with a pair of GP38-2s, an ACe, and a GEVO all wearing KCS's "Belle" paint scheme.
That lead unit, KCS GP38-2 #2003, was once a GWWR unit, and is no stranger to this part of the Kansas City area. 9/12/15.
The General Electric Tier 4 demonstrator-led train met opposing traffic at North Dalton and now has clear track down to Sidney. Two engines on either end of the train are muscling it up to track speed as the train passes through the South Dalton interlocking with the town's skyline standing tall behind it.
Pan Am EDPL, which is normally a nighttime run, crawls southbound on the MRS Line at Willow Interlocking just after 3pm on a warm August day. After returning to Plainville, the power on this train would be utilized for an extra move to Kerite in Seymour, an elusive move that normally only occurs once or twice a year.
METX #507 leads Milwaukee North #2139 out of Morgan running nonstop all the way to Glenview. The track in the foreground right is the Panhandle lead which was last used by NS in 2019 to serve the now-demolished ADM flour mill on the far right.

Anyway, further exploration revealed that the Avenida Cesar E Chavez overpass to the north was partially closed resulting in virtually no traffic and blocked off lanes making it safe and relaxing for photography. This view looks south off the road bridge as a BNSF grain train heads to Argentine Yard crossing the diamonds on track 2088 of KCT Route 120 (the north-south corridor) and passing the searchlights at the 25th St crossing where we spend much time hanging out. Overhead an eastbound UP loaded coal train takes KCT Route 1514, the 1917 Kansas high line trestle, toward Union Station.

CSXT local L059 has shoved out of the Billerica Shop lead and awaits the passage of outbound Keolis train 321 before continuing north to Lowell.
CP 8823 and BNSF 9305 pass under the signal bridge below the stately Dayton's Bluff. After a week of cloudy weather, it was nice to grab anything moving around and get some bright colors. Hard to know if this train is CPKC or BNSF, but I was just happy to see anything really, especially with good timing and a clear Warner Road.
