There Is a Sanity Clause!

“So tell me,” O’Grady asks with a glint in his eye, “do you believe in God?” The black snake venom is coursing through my bloodstream and organs and his eyes are glowing in the semi-darkness.

He swirls in my blurring vision as the reply rises full-blown from my heart without pause for censorship or amendment; “When most people ask that question, I get the impression they don’t mean ‘is there a creator?’ – they really mean ‘is there a Judge?’.” He meets my gaze levelly. “That’s a very penetrating insight,” he says, “very Jesuitical.” My heart doesn’t pause to bask in the glow of flattered pride but continues to pour out of my mouth; “The question has more than one answer, depending on what you really mean. I don’t believe that you mean ‘is there a Judge?’ – but let me answer that one first anyway.” We’re both sitting cross-legged and I shift around to face him more directly.

“There’s only one judge that counts, and at the moment of your death your eyes are riveted open to every act and deed you’ve ever done, stripped bare before the completely aware gaze of a conscience that’s more penetrating and aware than you could believe. You are your own worst and best judge, stripping yourself to the core.

“But at the same timeless time you’re also suffused with the very spirit of parental compassion, so your judgment of yourself is an admixture of Severity and Mercy, if you like.” I touch my left shoulder with my thumb held between my first two fingers and draw a line across to my right. “Those are the names of these two Sephiras of the Tree of Life, by the by, translated from ancient Hebrew – I prefer ‘Clarity and Compassion’ myself…” O’Grady nods slowly, trailing afterimages in the gloom while my mouth continues moving and my voicebox keeps vibrating as the venom flares in my foot and spreads into my brain.

“So you are the judge, the best you could ever hope for – who knows thee more intimately than thine own conscience? And from that immortal perspective beyond time – beyond matter and space you’re beyond time as well, beyond time’s well…” The memory of my deaths return in full-blown Technicolor and quintaphonic Dolby; “…you decide whether you’ve created a perfect pattern or not – one that satisfies your expanded esthetic and ethical senses, the heart that balances the feather of truth.” Psychedelic images begin feathering inward from the periphery of my vision and it becomes increasingly difficult to focus. I concentrate on deepening my breath and slowing my pulse as my voice goes on and on;

“But more than that – from the true perspective of immortal Justice, the obvious macrocosmic truth is revealed – the secret of all enlightenment – that everyone is everyone and everything you do to anyone is something literally done to yourself. In that moment of crystal-clear awareness karma is something obvious and ever-present, and the only important thing – the only thing relevant to your blown open mind – is the impressions you’ve made on other beings, the links you have to others.

“And you decide whether you’ve lived life as best you could, or fallen short of your own abilities. You keep coming back until you’ve done it – I don’t want to use the word ‘right’, because of all the polarised connotations, and ‘correct’ is no better – but you decide to return to the Wheel until you’ve done it right by yourself, and all your selves. Then you have a further choice to explore something else entirely, or not.

“You may even decide to come back here again anyway, to help out.

“But if you want the short version,” I ramble on, “you are the Judge, Jury, Prosecutor, Defender, Executioner and Redeemer. Don’t accept any substitutes.” I need water to dilute and process the foreign proteins spilling through my blood, but the oxygen-rich air of the rainforest does nicely at present.

O’Grady nods and strokes his emerging beard, smiling into my blur. He’s a Saracen and a Viking, a Highlander and a Persian. “All right then,” he nods, “do you believe there’s a Creator?”

My hallucinating mind reviews the massed ranks of distant primate people who will cast me into imaginary hellfire or oblivion if my answer is negative – but this translucent vision doesn’t slow my open heart. A deep breath fills my lungs.

“On the one hand I side with the Gnostics – before they were all slaughtered and burned at the stake they insisted that those who purport to be the Creator – like Jehovah, for instance, or Jupiter – are actually demons masquerading as the One True God. But it gets complex – the ancients viewed the planets as gods and goddesses, remember, and many deeds and attributes ascribed to them are referents to planetary events, changes and catastrophes. Incidentally, ‘god’ is a pretty horrendous word for what we’re talking about, don’t you think?”

“I’ve always thought it pretty odd,” he agrees.

“Ugly,” I aver. “The Gnostics pointed out that no compassionate creator would ever do the things described in the old babbling books, and that any entity that did, was an ego-driven demon who should be ignored and driven out at all costs. The Gnostics went a little too far for my taste, claiming the universe itself was an evil cage – I understand their erroneous point of view, but in the long run they were a bit too nihilistic for their own good.” The Ark of the Covenant rears before my inner eye, resplendent and glowing with a blue aura of electrical charge. Before my mouth can wander in that direction my interlocutor intervenes, sparing us both a long digression. “Ah, yes, but – do you believe there’s a Creator?” O’Grady laughs.

“On the other hand,” I begin, “we’re talking about something not constrained by our primate templates of authority and awareness – and if it comes down to a choice between the archetypes of Sky Father and Earth Mother, these days I have to come down on the side of the Mother…” O’Grady laughs again. “I’m with you there, bro. It’s ‘Nungeena’ around here, right?”

“Great memory,” I congratulate him. “You got it the first time.”

“It’s just that where I first became exposed to this stuff, Her name was ‘Pacha Mama’.”

“Of course,” I smile.

“Nungeena,” he repeats as I nod. “But on the third hand,” I say, miming the emergence of another arm from my shoulder, “if you want to know what I really believe…” He leans forward as my voice drops. “How much do you know about, uh dimensional theory? Have you ever seen a hypercube?” O’Grady nods emphatically. “No,” I change my mind, “let’s start at the other end – it’s easier from down there.”

“Okay.” “You know there are an infinite number of points in any line?” I mime the action and a fluorescing trail of dot patterns laces the ground in the darkness while he nods. “And there are an infinite number of lines in any given plane, right?” I inscribe long lines at various angles on a scroll of parchment that appears in the nocturnal air.

The serpent poison is coming on strong and my foot is throbbing, swollen and red, but my monolog keeps me loosely bound to the world; I’m grateful to have an audience in this remote Paradise – and haven’t been condemned to merely sitting here alone and dealing with the poison while listening to all this stuff going around inside my head. I haven’t told him about the black snake yet – don’t want to worry him unduly. She will bruise thy heel…

“Well there are also an infinite number of planes in any solid, right?” I chop paths through an imaginary sphere from various angles, as it hovers between us like a small planetoid. O’Grady agrees. “And there are an infinite number of three-dimensional solids in hyperspace,” I conclude my series, sweeping my arms outward to indicate all the other spheres hovering in an immeasurable array that spreads away from us in all directions. “Virtual worlds from this point perspective, just as our universe is an illusion when viewed from theirs.”

For a moment I glimpse the view from hyperspace, from the fugue-riding perspective of the Crown Chakra, and all the spheres interpenetrate each other at various angles and progressions of mutual absorption – and then my mouth keeps working around the cud of my words.

“So from that heightened perspective, from the view of a consciousness dwelling in hyperspace – not beyond or apart from this world but implicately involved in everything here, as intrinsic as space or time – you could be aware of every sparrow that falls, every leaf on every tree and every thought in every being simultaneously. You could be aware of the flux of all the alternative timelines from a sufficient remove…

“It’s like this,” I continue as I see him attempt to imagine that view. I draw a circle on the ground between us. “From up here you can see everything inside that flat circle simultaneously, right? It’s all visible at once.”

“I see,” he says, and he does.

“Now, on the second last and penultimate hand in this trick deck, there’s another point or two I must make if you want a near-complete answer. There are those who draw a distinction between not only Judge and Creator, but also include an Architect in their triune pantheon…”

“Like the Egyptians with that dwarf character – what was his name?” He hands me a smoke.

“Ptah. Ta, thanks. That’s the one. “Around here he’s known as ‘Puntjal’ – pretty similar, considering. Here we have Nungeena (or Mother Nature, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Breath, the Nephesh) as well as Puntjal, the Architect of the Universe – and there’s also the indwelling Creator who dwells at the crown of your head, whose arms extend down through ours from the Dreaming, the Al Chera, Hyperspace, from the Crown of Creation, to work within the world and worlds. But I won’t speak his name here and now…”

“Fair enough. The Architect – ‘Puntjal’?”

“Perfect.” “So the geometric certainty of an interpenetrating series of interdimensional realities – not just some mathematical theory, but an infinitude of multiverses and a vast range of nesting dimensions – informs us that there must be, at very least, the likelihood of a Witness – a consciousness that is aware of everything in our little circle. Infinity is a pretty big place – infinity implies that anything we can imagine must actually exist somehow, somewhere, somewhen, on every scale…”

“So we have a Judge, an Architect, Mother Nature and a Witness – but what about a Creator?” he persists as I pass the smoke back to him.

“For a start, it’s all a hologram so you are already partaking of all of those forms of Godhood – your consciousness already extrudes into all the other dimensions, but we’re usually untrained to perceive or make use of any of them but the familiar ones that are useful to terrestrial primates. They’re all accessible, if you start young enough or are very fortunate or have enough focus and will power. The truth is, thou art God.” I’m pleased to see he doesn’t rebel at the prospect as a circlet of six-pointed stars surrounds his brow and an etheric topknot extrudes from the crown of his head.

“Now, if you really want to pin me down about a Creator – on the one octopoid tentacle, with an infinity of infinities to ponder, a Creator can’t be rendered impossible – and anything not impossible is not only probable, but likely – or even mandatory…”

“Anything not forbidden is compulsory.”

“Exactemundo, compadre.” And on the last tentacular extremity of all, interdimensional theory well understands how to create universes – we can do it in the lab, here at the dawn of the Third Millennium.”

“We can?”

“We can – I’ll explain how, if you like… do you know anything about Brane theory? M theory? Membrane theory?”

“Is this answering my question about a possible or probable Creator?”

“Okay then – you know how in current understandings of time travel, if you go back in time and kill your grandfather there’s no paradox at all?”

“You don’t snuff yourself out of existence then?”

“No – because when you leave the bubble of this hologram and enter another one, it is another one – times ain’t times and oils ain’t oils.

By entering another time stream the current belief is that you create a new time stream – although I differ on that point; I say that within infinity all virtual realities are equally real, and that the traveler is not a creator but just another vainglorious usurper of the title. These so-called ‘creator gods’ are simply stepping into a pre-existing continuum, not creating a new one at all. We don’t each simply create a new universe with each act of will, as postulated within the imagined constraints ascribed to quantum theory – we shift into a pre-existing virtual co-creation. There are an infinity of them.

“If you can imagine the sort of obsessive personality that wants to go back in time and change history – and not even their own history you understand – they know it’s a parallel history they’re tampering with but want to do it anyway – you’ll understand why a lot of the so-called ‘gods’ of the past have been such primitive control freaks.”

“Third Reichers and the like.”

“Precisely – and in some cases literally. Anyway, it’s all a variation on Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, if you like…”

“That’s where you can’t tell the velocity and trajectory of any subatomic particle at the same time?”

“That’s right – and the implications, as derived by modern physicists, are that the observer creates reality. So we’re all the Creator; manifest reality as we know it is a co-creation, combined from the various point perspectives of innumerable lifeforms in innumerable shapes, with utterly divergent environments and ways of viewing the universe. The manifest world is made by all the intersecting perspectives and wills of us all – and certainly not just those of human beings.

“The more diverse the range of lifeforms in a place, the more enduring the landform itself – and all other factors, like climate for instance. Life changes the odds in favour of itself – the evidence is all there if you take a look, all duly notarized and scientifically notated. Mind and will alter the odds, the flip of the dice, the spin of the electron, the intensity of the Sun, the trajectory of asteroids. You know what the native Americans say – the Web of Life holds it all together and each of us is a strand. “And if mind over matter is real – and it is – then all the other so-called psychic phenomena are equally real and accessible to us all.

“We’re creating it all, all the time. Everything’s an interpenetrating hologram and we’re all points of the same distributed consciousness, of the same – there has to be a better word than ‘oddgod’ – but if you’re looking for a Creator, look in the mirror,” I laugh, drawing a planar pane between us.

We grok. It groks.

“Okay,” he asks as pregnant Molki awakes from her drowsy slumber and leans against him. “What do you think gravity is?”

Step out of the chains binding your mind and life! Your parents and grandparents were happy and satisfied to be lied to by those who still get away with stealing the wealth and knowledge of the Earth (and everywhere else) for themselves – are you?

Turn on. Tune in. Opt OUT! You have nothing to lose but your blinkers. Security is only found within and true abundance comes only to those prepared to give everything away when they no longer need it.

Money is not abundance – it’s a tax on abundance! Why are you reading this? Why are you here? What is it that you need? Why do you need it? Who are you, really?

A totally random and slightly bizarre story. I hope it at least amuses some of you guys.

Chris Peterson crept cautiously into the Core Room of the Blabber superweapon, his assistant Charlotte close behind.

Getting inside the Blabber had been one heck of a mission, even with his backpack Superdimensional Karate Assistant & Travel Evolver (SKATE) board, which generally allowed him to go just about anywhere. Unfortunately, the Blabber was equipped with wormhole disrupters, which made interdimensional travel rather difficult.

At any rate, they had managed to get inside, and now they were finally in the Core Room. A quick suck from his plunger-like Electromagnetic Extractor and the Phlebotium Core would be neutralized, he figured.

Unfortunately, life wasn't that simple.

As soon as he and Charlotte were inside, the door slid shut. Red robotic eyes shone out from the blackness, and then the lights came on, and they realized they were not alone.

Drones rose up from the floor, their red antigravity cores glowing through their eyes like balls of demonic fire.

"INTRUDER. INTRUDER. INTRUDER." The Drones blared with mindless but ruthless repetition.

"I think you mean 'Intruders'." corrected Chris, "There's two of us."

The Drones opened fire.

Bolts of light flew right and left, all more or less targeting Chris and Charlotte. Chris ducked and weaved, absorbing the first few shots with his Extractor. The Drones came closer, and one of the beams singed Charlotte's scalp. She sliced her assaulter in half with her katana, and then split another laser with the prismatic side of her blade, sending half of it shooting off into the eye of a Drone sneaking up behind Chris.

The Drones came in thicker and faster, and the pulsing lasers flew with reckless speed. The two heroes began to be overwhelmed, and both of them had now taken hits. Seeing one of the Drones come close, Chris seized his chance and smacked it in the eye with his Extractor, pulling out its antigravity core and flinging it at the surrounding ones. They spun into a gravitational vortex and smashed into the wall.

In the brief respite, Chris charged the Core and slammed his Extractor into its center, switching it to the highest setting. The whole device became electrified with energy, shaking and jerking madly. A pillar of lightning flew out of it as the energy was released.

The remaining Drones resumed their barrage, but Charlotte had his back, splitting the lasers as they came.

The Extractor shook like mad, and then simply flew out of Chris' hands, unable to bear the pressure. The strained Core trembled, but it did not explode.

"Oh come on!" cried Chris in frustration. He turned to Charlotte amidst the melee. "What do we do now?" he shouted in desperation. She dodged in front of him and split another beam inches from their faces.

"Let's try this!" she shouted in reply, flinging her blade into the bottom end of the Phlebotium Core.

There was a blinding flash, and the katana burst in a flurry of prismatic shards. The Core bent and stretched, reflecting in a thousand directions, and then it imploded in a cataclysmic blast, its balance having been lost.

Chris and Charlotte went hurtling backward, and then everything went black...

The idea in this first concentration photo was to create an interdimensional "portal," or hole that was located in the center of the wall. My story behind the photo was that an ordinary civilian came to check on his backyard (in his angry birds underwear), and happened to stumble upon a hole in his wall leading to another location. I tried to create a wind effect, as his hair is somewhat being blown and added a flare inside the photo as a fake sun. The viewer should feel confused, and not trust the photo.

"Strange, normally at the end of a battle I would drag the villain away, not the other way around. This hero business is proving more complicated than I thought." I said with a laugh as I followed my super powered companion as his "frienemy" dragged him along like one of those wooden ducks with the wheels on the bottom.

One would have to be an absolute imbecile if they couldn't tell that May was quite enamored with Fluxx so I decided it best to give them a bit of space as I followed them. Not to mention I didn't want to get caught in the cross fire if little miss Jekyl went Hyde on us again.

"Drat..." I muttered to myself as the all too familiar metallic taste of blood returned to my mouth. I had completely forgotten the fact I was still bleeding.

I reached into my pocket to retrieve my handkerchief when I pricked my hand on what felt like a thorn vine.

"What in the multiverse?.." I grumbled as I pulled out the object discovering it to be a freshly cut, blood red rose.

I sighed in exasperation as I noticed the ground around me had started glowing and caught the attention of my companions.

"Uh Jones? Is everything alright?" Fluxx asked with a concerned expression.

"Not to worry, I'm sure it's nothing important..." I said with a nervous chuckle as the concrete under me began to crack and crumble in the shape of a six point star. "I'll catch up with you in a bit, best of luck mates!"

Before Fluxx could reply the ground beneath me gave way and I disappeared from his sight into what likely seemed to be an endless pit from his end.

However in actuality I immediately landed on a carpet in the center of what seemed to be an early 19th century parlour room.

"Ah, Good evening Sir." A dignified yet somewhat gravelly voice stated beside me.

I stood up and brushed myself off before facing the source of the voice.

"Alright Mortis, where's Maria?" I asked the grey skinned ghoul standing before me.

"Madam Morfran is in her chambers. I can escort you there if-"

"No need, I know where it is..." I said cutting off the butler's words as I partially shifted dimensions and marched through the unlit fireplace bypassing the elaborate secret door mechanism. I was in no mood for Morfran's theatrics.

As I walked down the winding corridor with its seemingly impossible architecture I began to smell the stench of boiling chemicals and herbs.

"This must be the laboratory she was installing last time." I thought to myself as I knocked on the medieval style dungeon door that lead to the lab before simply phasing through it when there was no reply."

The room was filled with bottles, beakers and vials boiling away on Bunsen burners and in the center sat a large desk covered in a mountain of books.

"Let's see, three parts jasmine, one part cinnamon, three pinches of ground coriander seeds..." I heard a voice mutter from the other side of the literary mountain.

"Bonsoir Maria." I said as I phased my head through the tome towers causing the woman behind them to jolt up from her book in surprise.

"Dementio Darling! W-what a pleasant surprise!" Maria stammered as she quickly closed her book and pinned back some strands that had come loose from her bride of Frankenstein-ish hair.

"Cut the act Maria, why'd you bring me here?" I said with a scowl as I held up the rose.

"Ah! Of course! Rose petals!" Maria exclaimed as she took the flower from me and rushed over to her brewing area and dropped a few rose petals into a kettle of reddish liquid.

"Could you please quit with your incessant alchemy for one second and answer the blasted question? I was kinda in the middle of something." I complained as I partially shifted to a nearby world and sat down on a chair in it. Which likely made it seem as though I was floating as I sat there drumming my fingers on the arm of the seemingly invisible chair.

"Right, I'm sorry my dear. Maria said as she put the lid back on the kettle and walked over to me. "I didn't mean to interrupt your hunt."

I suddenly realised what her statement meant and quickly pulled out my handkerchief and wiped the blood off my face.

"I've told you a dozen times I'm not a vampire! I was merely in a fight and they were a tougher opponent than I assumed..." I said rubbing the back of my head which still ached from the fight.

"Ah so you truly have come to the side of justice..." Maria said with a smile. "What interdimensional vandal did you face this delightfully frightful evening?"

"She wasn't exactly a vandal, more confused young lass with seemingly magical powers."

"Please elaborate." Maria said clearly intrigued.

"Well she could control this strange gaseous substance, create solid shapes like blades and whatnot from it. Made a right mess of the street..."I said thinking how strangely similar Maria and May seemed.

"Well, looks like she did quite a number on you as well." Maria said walking back to her brewing station. "But not to worry my dear, I'll whip up a spot of my herbal tea to help relieve the pain a bit."

"Um that's not necessary Maria..." I replied nervously as she poured the strange reddish liquid from the kettle into a teacup and proceeded to hand it to me with a large somewhat suspicious smile on her face.

"Nonsense, one sip of this and you'll feel much better..."

I sniffed of the steaming liquid and rolled my eyes when I smelt the coriander and cinnamon coupled with various flowers before reluctantly taking a sip of the rather bitter brew.

"Well?" Maria asked intently.

"You forgot the vanilla..." I said with a smug grin as Maria seemed simultaneously startled and annoyed.

"You Maria of all people should know love potions are a bunch of malarky."

"How did you know that's what it was?!" Maria exclaimed.

"It isn't the first time I've had the displeasure of tasting one..." I said pulling out a bottle of iced tea from my coat pocket and taking a sip to get rid of the horrid taste. "Now, if you don't need me any longer I must get back to work..."

"Oh but that's not why I needed you." Maria said quickly rushing to her desk and pulling out a sheet of parchment. "Something strange is going on in this realm and I was hoping you could help me get to the bottom of it... The uh, love potion was to try and smooth over any harsh feelings you may've had due to well, You know..."

"One does not simply smooth over losing a leg to an eldritch horror by serving perfume." I said thinking back to the elephantasm incident a year prior that lead to our not entirely friendly relationship. Seriously, undead mastodons and ghost mammoths are horrifying things to wrangle with.

"So. What exactly is the problem?" I asked walking over to Maria.

"Well as you know this realm is full of mythical beings such as us."

"Again, I'm not a-"

"You are literally transparent right now. I'd consider that mythical." Maria said cutting me off with a glare. "Anyway, recently many creatures have gone missing. Why just this morning the leader of beastburg disappeared.

"Beastburg?" I asked not recognizing the name." I thought the village was called Rocfald.

"I see, are you certain it's not just the monster hunter guild's doing?"

"Certain. Beaumont and the other fools in his band are off chasing something called skin walkers in the mid west. This is something different."

"Well, I suppose the best course of action is to ask any possible witnesses to the most recent case."

Maria nodded and grabbed her cloak. "I should warn you the woods are quite active with faerie folk this evening due to it being samhain and all. Just try not to make eye contact with any of them and you'll be fine.

"Please, I can handle a few elves and pixies." I said as I slipped through the castle wall into the courtyard and began an inventory check while Maria went around the long way.

"Let's see, wooden stakes, silver bullets, am I forgetting anything?" I said to myself trying to recall the methods of warding off faerie folk. "Sigh, I better get up with the expert." I said quickly shifting back to my lair to find my henchman asleep in front of the television.

"Bracton! Wake up man!"

Jack lifted the brim of his tricorn from in over his eyes and glanced in my direction.

"Oh, hey Jones. You're back early. What's up?"

"You've dealt with monsters before correct?" I asked the swashbuckler.

"We talking sea monsters, space monsters, eldritch abominations or just standard mythical monsters?"

"The latter. Celtic faerie folk to be exact."

"Iron powder, holy water, and a good ol' silver cross necklace for the nasty buggers and just bribe the rest with sweets."

"Right thanks mate." I said with a tip of the hat as I shifted back to Maria's courtyard where she was just coming out the castle door.

"All set darling?" She asked.

"Quite. Let's get this over with..."

As we walked through the woods everything seemed oddly silent.

"I thought you said this place was active on Halloween."

"It normally is..." Maria said nervously looking around.

Suddenly an echoing laugh came at us from all directions as a bizarre looking mist rolled in.

Then I saw it on the path ahead of us. A frightening stallion charging towards us seemingly made of shadows with spiked tentacles protruding from its sides, glowing red eyes and its rider laughing like a mad man whilst swinging around one of the tentacles like a whip.

"Dullahan!" Maria shouted in terror. "Get off the path! Now!"

"That's no headless horseman..." I said as I moved to the center of the path, drew my cutlass and glared straight into the rider's eyes as he continued towards us rapidly gaining speed until suddenly halting mere inches from the tip of my blade.

"DIMENSIO..." the rider said as he looked down at me from his haunted steed.

"Huxley..." I said with scowl to my old Nemesis. "Or should I call you Planemo?"

Huxley cringed in disgust at the mention of the name the inter dimensional police had given him after his turn from the law. "I HAVE NO TIME FOR THIS YOU FOOL! STAND ASIDE!"

I noticed his eyes were glowing like May's had earlier and an idea popped into my head.

"You always were a hot head..." I said with a grin as I reached into my pocket and grabbed the nozzle of a fire hose. "Perhaps a drink will ease your temper..."

I pulled out the hose and sprayed Huxley in the face with the high pressure water knocking him from his horse as it disappeared back to the void from whence it came.

"FOOLS... I AM UNSTOPPABLE..." Huxley muttered as he stood to his feet clenching his staff to simply stand.

"The word you're looking for mate is unstable." I replied as I sliced at the old villain's stick causing it to splinter and sending him falling back into the mud.

I quickly retrieved a set of handcuffs, shackles and a length of rope from my pockets and bound Huxley with them before pulling out a small radio.

"Interdimensional Task Force, this is Jana how may I help you?"

"Jana? It's Dimensio, I hate to bother y'all this late but I've got a situation I need assistance with in sector fourteen..." I replied as I passed the radio to Maria so I could tie Huxley to a nearby tree.

"Monster realm eh? Don't tell, Morfran opened another portal to the void didn't she?!"

"I did nothing of the sort!" Maria exclaimed.

"For once Maria was helpful. She alerted me of disappearing inhabitants and when we investigated we discovered Huxley was involved.

"Not surprising. Huxley always went looney this time of year even before the accident." The dispatcher replied with a slightly amused tone. "Where is planemo now?"

"Right here. I'd let you talk to him but he's a bit tied up at the moment... To a tree... Also he's unconscious..."

"Okay then. I'll send a squad to your location for pick up."

"Thank you ma'am. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going on to get to the bottom of this. Have a blessed day." I replied to Jana hanging up before she could object to my plan.

"So now what?"

"Well my dear it looks like we have an interdimensional mystery to solve." I said holding out my hand."You up for a little more action?"

Maria smiled and happily grabbed my hand. "Maybe that potion worked after all."

"Don't push your luck Missy..." I replied with a laugh as we phased back to Advant city to find Fluxx and May.

Hours later...

"Dimensio said he left planemo around here somewhere..." the squad leader said as he and the group of officers marched through the woods.

Suddenly the sound of merry singing rang through the trees.

"Hop-tu-naa, tra-la-laa..."

Soon they found the source to be a group of faeries dancing around a bonfire and behind them sat Huxley still tied up but now covered in brightly colored paint and glitter.

"Thank God! Saved at last!" Huxley shouted upon seeing the squad with tears streaming down his face. "Get these wretched bugs away from me!!!"

"Hold on!" One of the faeries shouted as they flew up in front of the squad leader's face. "We ain't givin' him up without somethin' in return!"

"Fine. Bracton?"

The group of officers parted as Jack walked through with several boxes of doughnuts, cookies and candy.

"Gotcha covered sir." Jack said with a wink. "Alright you sugar crazed gnomes, let's get this party started!"

Un tren... Un lugar... Un fotógrafo. Esta es la historia de un perseguidor que no se rinde, la de un cazador de intenciones que para nada se agazapa para cobrar su pieza. El destino intenta que el fin no se consiga, aun a fuerza de contaminar lo que toca. Solo la providencia puede romper el maleficio, solo ella podrá hacer que el fotógrafo salga victorioso.

Por eso el hombre y la cámara decidieron aprovechar el insomnio y salir a por el objetivo: el Teco de Continental que baja (o bajaba) los viernes a mediodía. El lugar no es otro que el que su imaginación ya tenía dibujado en la mente: ese puentecito de El Puig desde el que sale parte de la Sierra Calderona. Había que ir y probar.

El día presagiaba que, al menos, el tren deseado no haría acto de presencia. Sí, efectivamente, las oscuras nubes cubrieron por completo el cielo, amenazantes, turbadoras, haciendo que la luz no fuese más que un recuerdo. A pesar de todo el fotógrafo salió. Había poco que perder y mucho que ganar.

Al final no pudo ser y ese viernes tampoco le premió con su presencia. Eran tres, como las hijas de Elena, las veces que lo había intentado, tres decepciones de un tiempo que ya no se puede recuperar.

¿Decepciones? Menos mal que mientras la mala suerte va por un lado los premios vienen por otro y así, el hastiado fotógrafo y su ansiosa cámara, tuvieron una pieza lo suficientemente valiosa para engalanar su galería.

¿Será que baja por Madrid? ¿Será que se suprime siempre que decido inmortalizarlo? ¿Será que atraviesa una puerta interdimensional y aparece más allá de las estrellas? No sé el por qué, pero el fotógrafo perseverará en el intento. Que no se descuide, por si acaso...

Today's story and sketch "by me", started around lunchtime, I had just enjoyed an ice cold "O'Doul's, a great tasting non alcoholic beer, that will never dull your lighting quick reflexes, which was very important this morning, because I was testing the latest in personal interdimensional transportation the "RRSW" Rescue Randy Sport Wings. I had just finished a loop from the Man Cave to dimension seven to visit Zooelda's Famous, Moon Pie Shop, when I received an emergency call from Cosmo our "MCPPOE", Man Cave Posse Of Earth society crime scene photographer who was near Zooelda's in the dimension seven bad lands, at the crash site of an intergalactic glider with no pilot, Cosmo needed help to identify the glider, it had no identification numbers, no symbols and was not in any intergalactic databases, As soon as I flew above the crash I recognized the glider, as being from dimension fourteen, dimension fourteen has only one building it's the Flip Flop Resort maximum security prison for mimes, yes mimes specially the ones who have terrible skills with applying makeup or have no rythem or dance skills. I instructed Cosmo to get crash scene photos as soon as possible in case the mime returns. And we can contact the Flip Flop Resort after he returns to the Man Cave.
