The American Museum of Natural History (abbreviated as AMNH), located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City, is one of the largest museums in the world. Located in park-like grounds across the street from Central Park, the museum complex comprises 28 interconnected buildings housing 45 permanent exhibition halls, in addition to a planetarium and a library. The museum collections contain over 33 million specimens of plants, animals, fossils, minerals, rocks, meteorites, human remains, and human cultural artifacts, of which only a small fraction can be displayed at any given time, and occupies more than 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2). The museum has a full-time scientific staff of 225, sponsors over 120 special field expeditions each year, and averages about five million visits annually.
The one mission statement of the American Museum of Natural History is: "To discover, interpret, and disseminate—through scientific research and education—knowledge about human cultures, the natural world, and the universe.

O Museu Americano de História Natural (American Museum of Natural History, em inglês) é um museu dos Estados Unidos da América, localizado em Nova Iorque e fundado em 1869. É especialmente reconhecido pela sua vasta coleção de fósseis, incluindo de espécies de Dinossauros. Theodore Roosevelt está ligado à sua fundação e é lembrado no actual museu por um memorial. Modern architecture in Beijing
The new headquarters for China Central Television, OMA's largest project to date, combines the entire process of TV-making – administration, production, broadcasting – into a single loop of interconnected activity. Rising from a common platform accommodating production facilities, two towers – one dedicated to broadcasting, one to services, research, and education – lean towards each other and eventually merge in a dramatic, seemingly impossible cantilever. CCTV's distinctive loop aims to offer an alternative to the exhausted typology of the skyscraper. In spite of their potential to incubate new cultures, programs, and ways of life, most skyscrapers accommodate merely routine activity, arranged according to predictable patterns. Formally, their expressions of verticality have proven to stunt the imagination: as verticality soars, creativity crashes. Instead of competing in the hopeless race for ultimate height and style within a traditional two-dimensional tower 'soaring' skyward, CCTV proposes a truly three-dimensional experience, culminating in a canopy that symbolically embraces the entire city. CCTV consolidates all its operations in a continuous flow, allowing each worker to be permanently aware of her colleagues – a chain of interdependence that promotes solidarity rather than isolation, collaboration instead of opposition. The loop also facilitates an unprecedented degree of public access to the production of China's media: visitors will be admitted to a dedicated path circulating through the building, connecting all elements of the program and offering spectacular views from the multiple facades towards the CBD, the Forbidden City, and the rest of Beijing.

There was an interconnected colony of at least twenty spiders in a patch of Coyote Brush. The attached photos are not all of one spider but include several individuals from the same colony.
M. spinipes is one of the very few semi-colonial spiders in the US. Each individual builds its own orb web with a retreat made of leaves and silk suspended inside a surrounding tangle web. A line connects the retreat to the center of the orb while the tangle webs of the different spiders are interconnected.

Curved light surfaces are placed throughout the square , forming the grid of interconnected, ubiquitously present pixels, controlled from a single source. The source is the live stream of continuously measured random quantum fluctuations of the electromagnetic field in vacuum from Quantum Optics Lab of the Australian National University. Tapped random numbers are converted into the light patterns that feed the pixel grid, illuminating the square in an unpredictable way.
This year’s TEC ART is the 3rd edition of a mini festival during Art Rotterdam, offering five days and nights of exhibition, live events, electronic music and audio-art at WORM, institute for avantgardistic recreation.
After 2 successful editions in Fenix warehouse in Katendrecht, TEC ART moves to THE cultural hot spot in Rotterdam, Witte de Withstraat. There the new exhibition spaces of WORM will be invaded by 360 degree video-projections, hypnotizing audiovisual installation, virtual realities and Zombie Apocalypse gamehacks. Interactive pop-up installations will be shown at the newly opened Kruisplein in front of Central Station, as well as Witte de Withbrug, the bridge near museum Boijmans. Eyecatcher is a larger than life boombox where visitors can release a wave of high volume gabber, terror and techno beats as a tribute to it’s birthplace, the industrial harbor of Rotterdam.
Larnaca Salt Lake (Greek: Αλυκή Λάρνακας, Turkish: Larnaka Tuz Gölü) is a complex network of four salt lakes (3 of them interconnected) of different sizes to the west of the city of Larnaca. The largest is lake Aliki, followed by lake Orphani, lake Soros and lake Spiro.They form the second largest salt lake in Cyprus after the Limassol Salt Lake. The total surface area of the lakes adds up to 2.2 km2 and being just off the road leading to Larnaca International Airport is one of the most distinctive landmarks of the area. It is considered one of the most important wetlands of Cyprus and it has been declared a Ramsar site, Natura 2000 site, Special Protected Area under the Barcelona Convention and an Important Bird Area (IBA). It is surrounded by halophytic scrubland and on its bank lies the Hala Sultan Tekke, one of the holiest of shrines within Ottoman Islam. It houses the tomb of Umm Haram, Muhammad's 'wet-nurse'.
Besides its picturesque beauty, the lake is the haunt of 85 species of water-birds with estimated populations between 20,000–38,000. It is one of the important migratory passages through Cyprus. Among them are 2,000–12,000 flamingoes (Phoenicopterus ruber) which spend the winter months there feeding off populations of the brine shrimp Artemia salina.
This shopping center is divided in five interconnected parts wrapped up by a translucent façade. The circulation is based on twisting corridors opening towards the surrounding landscape.

This place is huge -- a complete warren of little interconnected rooms. The highlight of this structure is a room full of amazingly well-preserved murals no every wall, depicting the initiation rites of an unknown mystery cult... but somehow, I couldn't find it. It's crazy dark in there (no artificial lights inside), the sun was setting, and I was trying to navigate around this convoluted honeycomb of dark rooms using my iPhone as a flashlight. Didn't work so well.
Oh, well. Just means I'll have to go there first next time I return to Pompeii!
In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang describes how apparently opposite or contrary forces are actually complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. The Vermilion Lakes are a series of three shallow interconnected lakes situated near the Banff townsite. As the Bow Valley's largest wetland area, the lakes and surrounding sedge and willow flats are a rich haven for wildlife, including elk, beaver, muskrat, waterfowl, ospreys and bald eagles.
The site of the Vermilion Lakes is also of historical importance, with archaeological digs revealing Aboriginal presence here dating back some 11,000 years.
To reach the Vermilion Lakes, head out of Banff on Lynx Street and Mt. Norquay Road, taking a left turn on to Vermilion Lakes Drive just before you reach Highway 1. Vermilion Lakes Drive is a 4.5 km dead-end road that skirts the lakes (restricted to first lake during winter season), with pull-ins and small docks at each lake providing good vantage points and signature views of Banff's Mount Rundle.
The Vermilion Lakes can also be reached via the Fenland Trail, an easy 2 km loop that starts from the Forty Mile Picnic Area, just past the Banff Recreation Centre on Mt. Norquay Road. The Fenland Trail is typically closed in late spring/early summer to coincide with elk calving season.
In addition to walking and hiking, other activities suited to the Vermilion Lakes include wildlife photography, birdwatching, canoeing and in winter, ice skating. It goes without saying that ice skating on lakes is an extremely risky activity and the thickness of the ice sheet can be thin or non-existent in places, particularly on the third Vermilion Lake which is also fed by a warm spring.
Modern architecture in Beijing
The new headquarters for China Central Television, OMA's largest project to date, combines the entire process of TV-making – administration, production, broadcasting – into a single loop of interconnected activity. Rising from a common platform accommodating production facilities, two towers – one dedicated to broadcasting, one to services, research, and education – lean towards each other and eventually merge in a dramatic, seemingly impossible cantilever. CCTV's distinctive loop aims to offer an alternative to the exhausted typology of the skyscraper. In spite of their potential to incubate new cultures, programs, and ways of life, most skyscrapers accommodate merely routine activity, arranged according to predictable patterns. Formally, their expressions of verticality have proven to stunt the imagination: as verticality soars, creativity crashes. Instead of competing in the hopeless race for ultimate height and style within a traditional two-dimensional tower 'soaring' skyward, CCTV proposes a truly three-dimensional experience, culminating in a canopy that symbolically embraces the entire city. CCTV consolidates all its operations in a continuous flow, allowing each worker to be permanently aware of her colleagues – a chain of interdependence that promotes solidarity rather than isolation, collaboration instead of opposition. The loop also facilitates an unprecedented degree of public access to the production of China's media: visitors will be admitted to a dedicated path circulating through the building, connecting all elements of the program and offering spectacular views from the multiple facades towards the CBD, the Forbidden City, and the rest of Beijing.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is the oldest national park in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. The national park was founded in 1949 and is situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia. The protected area extends over 296.85 square kilometres (73,350 acres). In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register among the first natural sites worldwide. The national park is world famous for its lakes arranged in cascades. Currently, 16 lakes can be seen from the surface. These lakes are a result of the confluence of several small rivers and subterranean karst rivers. The lakes are all interconnected and follow the water flow. They are separated by natural dams of travertine, which is deposited by the action of moss, algae, and bacteria. The particularly sensitive travertine barriers are the result of an interplay between water, air and plants. The encrusted plants and bacteria accumulate on top of each other, forming travertine barriers which grow at the rate of about 1 cm per year.
The sixteen lakes are separated into an upper and lower cluster formed by runoff from the mountains, descending from an altitude of 636 to 503 m (2,087 to 1,650 ft) over a distance of some eight km, aligned in a south-north direction. The lakes collectively cover an area of about two square kilometers, with the water exiting from the lowest lake forming the Korana River.
The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colors change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.
Through different climatic influences and the large difference in elevation within the protected area, a multifaceted flora and fauna has been created. The national park area is home to many endemic species. Those species that prevailed at the lakes before the arrival of man still exist.

This musical composition and immersive installation explores the vibrational and interconnected essence of the universe. It delves into the dynamic web of waves and resonances that link all matter and energy, permeating all aspects of existence, including the sound(s) we hear and the music we create.
At the center of the installation, a cymbal vibrates. A controlled electrical signal activates the cymbal resonance modes—the unique patterns at which it intrinsically vibrates. Thus, the cymbal’s natural vibrations become audible to the visitors without any human touch. Also, drawing on interferometry, a scientific research technique, a custom laser system makes the cymbal’s vibrations visible. Fourteen reflections, arranged in a spiral fashion, “float” around the cymbal, forming a vortex-like configuration.

When Disney+ first launched, it was supposedly designed as a family-friendly streaming service. Disney’s more mature material was not made available there; instead, Hulu became the home of the company’s adult-oriented shows and movies. But when you’re about to debut a TV show featuring a violent vigilante named the Punisher, clearly that rules has changed.
According to new reports, none other than the Punisher will reappear on the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again TV series. The show continues the adventures of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, who first debuted in a very adult-oriented Daredevil TV series on Netflix. As on Netflix, Born Again’s Punisher will be played by Jon Bernthal, who appeared on Netflix‘s Daredevil as a guest star and then got his own spinoff series on Netflix, which lasted for two seasons of 26 total episodes.
Both Daredevil and The Punisher were originally part of an interconnected universe of Marvel TV series on Netflix with only the loosest of ties to the main MCU. After the deal between Marvel and Netflix expired (and Disney launched its competing Disney+ streaming service) the entire line of shows were canceled. Marvel let the Netflix characters lie dormant for a while, then surprised fans by reintroducing Cox’s Daredevil, first in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and then in a guest spot on the She-Hulk TV series. "Over the Stock Exchange floor, Pflueger mounted a ceiling composed of interconnected sheet metal strips above which he used indirect lighting to soften the edges and reduce shadows made by traders on the floor below. The result was so effective that Pflueger used it on a much larger scale above the audience seating at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, where it extended from and formed a continuity with the incised art on the proscenium. In 1894, Fremiet was chosen to design the statue to crown the spire of the abbey of Mont Saint Michel. He had been famous as a sculptor since his Joan of Arc had been set up in the Place des Pyramides in Paris in 1874. With Joan, he founded a new form of realism, characterised by minute description, in which a sense of precision was combined with a veritable archaeological quest. He preferred the severe iconography of the Middle Ages to the almost baroque schema derived from Raphael. Fremiet thus developed a didactic style which refused pathos, driven by a twofold passion for history and science.
His first version of St Michael was a statuette intended for commercial reproduction in 1879. Most unusually, it was this 50 cm work which was chosen to be enlarged to a height of 2.20 metres. Almost as if the architect had selected it from a catalogue. This practice of verifying the artist's aesthetic choices in advance, combined with Fremiet's "historical realism" sat very well with the new vision of historic monuments advocated by Viollet-le-Duc and his followers, in search of architectural reconstructions.
The statue is unusual in Fremiet's work because of its dynamism; it must be imagined gilded in the Mont Saint Michel version, flashing in the light in the open air. It is made of repoussé copper: the copper plates were hammered in the workshop, then mounted on a frame and riveted together. The resulting work was relatively light: lifting a heavy bronze statue to the top of the spire would have been insane. The Monduit firm was commissioned to execute the statue and made two other copies, one for the spire of the church of Saint Michel des Batignolles in Paris, and the other for its show room, which is now in the Musée d'Orsay.
The architect conceived a plan of two churches, one above the other and interconnected: the lower or crypt on the level of the former churches, and the upper church The lower preserves the Holy Grottos and the remains of the Byzantine and Crusader churches, which bespeak an uninterrupted cult and authentic tradition. The roof opens in a starlike lantern in the centre of the upper church to which there is access by stairway. The upper Church is the Latin Parish Church of Nazareth. The central feature was to be the Grotto marked on high by the striking dome. The new project was approved in 1969 and, after much testing of the subsoil and preparatory work on the foundations, the contract for construction was signed on September 30, 1960, with the Israeli building firm of Solel Boneh.
