For Seven Days of Shooting. Today starts a week of the study of “instruments”, with the usual Sunday theme of “Geometry”.

This photo fits both Wednesday and Thursday Challenges: the instruments are a bit worn and it is in BW.

Je poursuis mes dessins dans l'expo sur les instruments de musique. Cette fois-ci gros plan sur certains des outils du luthier.

At the very beginning of the Brussels Musical Instruments Museum's creation, two collections of instruments were joined together. the original creation of the Brussels Musical Instruments Museum dates from 1 February 1877, when it was attached to the Brussels Royal Music Conservatory with the didactic purpose of showing early instruments to the students. The Old England Building, Brussels Designed by architect Paul Saintenoy, the Old England building was constructed in 1899 and is considered one of Brussels's Art Nouveau gems. The former department store now houses the Museum of Musical Instruments.

Keshavan likes Cello. So he converts hid dad's guitar and grandma's spatula into a Cello to play his tunes.

Concerts in the Park.

It is a well-known fact that England is a land of traditions and proudly so!

It was extremely pleasant, last summer, to discover that in the many parks, in and around the city, every Sunday afternoon, brass bands were to give concerts!

...but it was rather melancholic to hear that oooh so specific familiar sound of the brass instruments, and the old sweet tunes floating through the leaves as the rains started, people sought refuge inside the small café, while quite a few listeners brought out their raincoats and umbrellas, and stoically stayed put, like the band, who kept on playing!

This was the Tuba section, during a short break, new sheets of music, drying out the instruments, he had put it upside down.

He put a protective hand on it, just like you do with a child, a caress for loved one, pat a pet...

All the best and thank you for your comments, M, (*_*)

Lift a shell to your ear and your hear him

the young master recites at the shore

far from the maddening crowd he plays

his melodies in tune with the notes of the sea

until his music is submerged in the tide

Isn't that a great name?

From a catalog of band instruments, without the background. I see now that I left a little bloop on the rim... some day perhaps I'll fix it.

No one is expected to rise above anybody in this world. Each and every one should be at the same level no one superior than the other. Look through the world as a world of peace and unity, a world of equilibrium and not as a place to become superior. I shot this to show a very peaceful picture. Well I decided to use my Naruto (most of you know him right?) figurine wherein he is eating and living peacefully with animals. Well, just a play along story okay? just to fall in line with my concept :).

In Barsana we found this guy, waiting for the next customer, a player in a wedding band perhaps?

A redux of the Macro Mondays challenge "Musical Instrument". When the challenge first appeared, I was not anywhere near my source of musical instruments (the sister-in-law's house, or even the father-in-law). But now it's the annual holiday pilgrimage back to Houston. What do I spy, but a bow on a wall. So, after several attempts to get the photo done right (a good stack with minimal artefacts), here we are. There are 52 source images, acquired using the in-camera focus bracket function. A floor-standing reading lamp provided light and my little tabletop tripod held the camera ('twas tippy, but we managed).

This is my Grandfather's german accordian...and that's a picture of him playing it. The picture is dated November 1965, but he passed in April 1962. The photograph was developed after his death so I'm not sure when it was actually taken.

The oud (Arabic: عود‎ ʿūd, plural: أعواد, a‘wād; Somali: kaban; Persian: بربط barbat; Turkish: ud or ut;[1] Greek: ούτι; Armenian: ուդ, Azeri: ud; Hebrew: עוד ud) is a pear-shaped, stringed instrument, which is often seen as the predecessor of the western lute, distinguished primarily by being without frets, commonly used in Middle Eastern music.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My music teacher gifted me a violin!! It needs a little bit of work but I'm so excited!

I've decided the banjo would fit well into a steampunk setting... It's very industrial in nature and can appear more like machinery than a musical instrument... Especially when one plays with lighting and depth of field...

This shot taken on my kitchen countertop using just the overhead halogen lighting. No flash or additional lighting used.

Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix.

This is one of the first rooms visited when touring the museum; it serves as an introduction of what's to come.

Upstairs there are rooms with instruments from many countries around the world and videos so you can watch and hear them being played. It's pretty overwhelming as your sense of sound changes every few seconds because a new tv monitor kicks in as soon as you approach it. A fun place to visit!
