As punishment for Prometheus' giving the gift of fire to mankind, Zeus condemned him to be imprisoned atop a mountain, where a giant eagle would rip out his liver daily, for all eternity.

This is a Black-eyed Susan from my Michigan native wildflower garden. It's in the composite family meaning it has two types of flowers in the flower head. The yellow "petals" are actually ray flowers, and the dark central disk is composed of tightly-packed small "disk flowers".

This is an unopened flower head, with the rays seemingly forming "prison bars" around the disk flowers. It would be completely opened the next day.

What was art but a mould in which to imprison for a moment the shining, elusive element which is life itself ----- life hurrying past us & running away , too strong to stop , too sweet to lose .

"Imprison it and keep the light on.

Hug me no matter why or how.

Double bed the sweat leader.

Time is ashes, the pain a shipwrecked.

I love you in every verse, every sound of mine.

I ask you in every wave of me, every step where I live.

Imprison it and keep the light on.

Hug me no matter why or how.

Sleeping on your breasts is a sweet habit.

Every darkness is extinguished by your caress.

Fire in the gaze, pulses in my blood.

The shooting star in my summer.

I love you in every verse, every sound of mine.

I ask you in every wave of me, every step where I live.

As you are leaving, don't forget, my little one,

the one who stays back loved you very much."

Thank you all who spent some of your time to visit it.

A hard time controlling that brilliant sunlight filtering through the trees above and the deep dark shadows of this narrow gorge. It took a lot of trial and error but got a few shots that captured how the sunrays were hitting the falling water! Looks like a hooded figure under the cascade, don't you think?

More falling water in my galleries Ebook.

Check them out!

As far as I can remember this very old Mercedes W21 (built between 1933 and 1935) has been always on a fenced yard near my favorite inline skating route. On the other side of the road is a small airfield that used to be a Luftwaffe Air Base during the WW2. What is if this car belonged to a Luftwaffe pilot who went on a mission and never returned? And the car is still standing there waiting for its owner who will never return? Just my fantasies :-)

The Canário-da-terra-verdadeiro (Sicalis flaveola) is a bird admired for its loud cracking song and is therefore often imprisoned as a captive bird (it is among the 10 most seized, according to IBAMA), even though it is considered a crime without bail by the Environmental Crimes Law (Law 9.605 / 98).

Thanks to the action of the authorities and the awareness of the population, records of the true canary have become more frequent in recent years. Particularly in the region where I was born the population is growing a lot, and we find them on the streets and sidewalks feeding on grass seeds or occasionally small insects. Even in the city of Rio de Janeiro you can see flocks in parks and gardens, and hear their unmistakable singing.

This side - those seagulls are free forever ; against the other side in the distance - Alcatraz Island, there was a federal prison from 1934 until 1963. Because of its isolation from the outside by the cold and strong currents of the waters of San Francisco Bay, even the co-founder of Chicago Outfit, Al Capone, who had been jailed there.

The image perspective was viewing from Crissy Field, San Francisco, California. Tried to take long exposure to smooth the water surface and to darken the color. Hopefully I could get a simpler form in the frame, which was my purpose. Thank you for stopping by, with best wishes for you and your family!

Knaresborough's most famous resident of all time was undoubtedly Mother Shipton, the famous 'witch' of Yorkshire who was born in a cave in Knaresborough in 1488 during a violent thunder storm.

Mother Shipton's original name was Ursula Southeil and her mother, Agatha, died giving birth to Ursula. The birth was said to be accompanied by eerie screams, though some may think that not so unusual.

Throughout her childhood Ursula was associated with myserious events, such as furniture moving up and down stairs of its own accord. Later she married Tony Shipton near York in 1512 and became well known as a fortune teller. Her crooked facial features frightened many - though presumably not Tony - and she was often thought to be a witch.

Mother Shipton is associated with many famous predictions and is said to have foretold the Great fire of London and the defeat of the Spanish Armada as well as the invention of telegraphs and trains

Apart from Mother Shipton and the murderers of Thomas a Becket , a number of other famous folk are associated with Knaresborough. Guy Fawkes once lived here, Edward III visited here, Oliver Cromwell slept in a Royal fishing lodge here and Richard II was imprisoned here. Other Knaresborough notables included William Slingsby (died 1634), the founder of Harrogate's spa who is comemorated in Knaresborough's church and Blind Jack Metcalfe (1717-1810) a violinist, road surveyor, forest guide and smuggler.

Busy streets, tall buildings, people rushing to go to their work, patches of green on a concrete canvas, reflections on glass facades, sharp edges, clean lines. Elements that you find in a big city, elements that have nothing to do with nature. Modern societies are mostly built around an urban scenery. They way we live has drastically changed, some will say it became better, some other people will say that even though we live so close to each other, we are so distant from each other. A bunch of people imprisoned to the modern way of living, imprisoned to the routine. We can see freedom only when we look up, when we see the sky...

Grimstad lies within the boundaries of the ancient parish of Fjære. It is reportedly first mentioned as a harbor in the 16th century. Eight years after he was deposed, Christian II of Denmark–Norway (1513–1523) attempted to recover his kingdoms.

A tempest scattered his fleet off the Norwegian coast, and on 24 October 1531, they took refuge at Grimstad. On 1 July 1532, he surrendered to his rival, King Frederick I of Denmark, in exchange for a promise of safe conduct. King Frederick failed to honor his promise and imprisoned Christian until he died.

An inn is recorded at Grimstad as early as 1607. In 1622, Grimstad became a recognized harbor under the town of Arendal. By 1747, Grimstad was identified as a sailing community and a recognized haunt of smugglers.

During the Napoleonic Wars, England blockaded Norway. In 1811, an English brig entered the harbor to capture blockade runners, but was vigorously repulsed and did not return.

John Frederik Classen, who owned the Frolands Værk (an ironworks), obtained concessions to export and import through Grimstad and bypass Arendal with its customs dues. Grimstad was awarded market town status in 1816.

The Nørholm farm in Grimstad was the home of Knut Hamsun in the early 20th century.

The Wachau Valley is an Austrian region near the Danube River, west of Vienna. It’s known for its rolling hills, vineyards and fortresses. Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned in the castle above the town of Dürnstein. Highlights of nearby Gottweig Abbey include its lavish baroque church and views across the valley.

*Working Towards a Better World

Torture is banned but in two-thirds of the world's countries it is still being committed in secret. Too many governments still allow wrongful imprisonment, murder or 'disappearance' to be carried out by their officials with impunity.

Johann Sebastian Bach was imprisoned 1717 in this mournful spot for four weeks, because he had applied for a well-paid position in Köthen and had fallen out of favour with the Duke of Weimar. He did not waste the time and wrote a fugue of wrath, which, however, had to be squeezed onto one sheet due to a lack of paper behind bars.

This is a few months old painting which i truly enjoyed creating.

For me, Rage is not something which about violence.

I just wanted to portray something positive about it. Rage to face difficult situations in life when you are battered and bruised. To be positive to face any situation. Not to be imprisoned in a cell thinking about problems. Covid is the best example.

My friend who is working at Harvard art Museum informed me yesterday that my works reached him safely. This painting is one of them. He never talks too much nor i call him frequently. sometimes silence speaks more than words.

The Rage in me want to explore different forms of art. It is challenging to create on big canvases but i am loving it.

“Take that rage, put it on a page, take the page to the stage, blow the roof off the place.”
